FFXI /sea and AH query issues.

I have an odd problem that basically every 2nd or 3rd ingame query will time out both /sea function and AH. It's been like this for about a month and I've tried the basic stuff but it's just confusing because I don't seem to have any other problems with my internet (apart from the odd time my ISP throttles torrents.) I don't have D/C issues with FFXI and don't often have any other problems with websites timing out.

Just looking for some ideas. I am running Vista, Comodo Anti-Virus (no firewall,) and network magic (the monitoring program that comes with my Cisco Linksys router.) I'm wired directly to the router.

try without the router and see if it changes any.

Hmmm, tried that and it does seem to be helping a bit but it'll still randomly take like 30-60 seconds for a random search to DL. I'll play around with it a bit more without my router but could this just be a port issue? I figured if POL/FFXI was getting a connection through at all it wouldn't be that but do I need a larger port range maybe? Actually the other thing that's really confusing to me is that I haven't changed anything on my router settings recently.

do you have a firewall in your modem? is it set to "bridged mode"? try that and put your router back and see if it works better. otherwise try another router and see if it gets any better.
