The way Mysterion scowled at Cartman made me think it was Kyle. Kyle usually does that when Cartman has the floor, even if Stan and Kenny are just straight faced.

In the first coon episode they showed mysterion's face, it was a blonde boy iirc. If you watch the south park movie I think they show him as blonde also.

Bleh. Why the fuck did they do that sorry shit 3 times. Maybe if they put a subtitle apologizing for the College Humor thing during those 3 scenes it would have been okay.

But really. Only funny things were the Coon Alert and Cthulhu, and the moral seems fine (everyone spends more time focusing on what should have been done rather than what could be done to help). Episode would have been so much better if they took out Captain Hindsight and the oil spill and just made it about BP's unleashed interdimensional monsters vs. Coon and Friends vs. Coon. Hopefully that's what the next part is. Or they just don't continue the two-parter like people have been expecting for every cliffhanger episode they made in the past decade.

And Mosquito sounded like a Matt Stone voice, so Kyle or Kenny fits with that plus Cartman's abuse. The Kite/Kike joke is great but no one else is in anyway thematically appropriate except maybe Timmy.

EDIT: And the Willzyx/Tom Cruise callback would have been excellent if they just mixed it into the background or foreground of the initial DP drill scene, rather than cutting to it and shoving the actual scene into the background. That just feels like pointless self-referencing for the sake of self-referencing.

Kyle is definitely Mosquito. watching the ep now, paying very close attention. he sounds very much like Kyle and gives the same speeches.
So Kenny is either Kite or Mysterion. Though Kenny usually sides with Cartman, unless his plans directly affects him, which this one kinda did... Of course, Mysterion doesnt really act like Kenny or Clyde at all, so it could be an entirely different persona which we couldnt base comparisons on.

what the fuck kind of discussion is coming out of this damned mysterion mystery? Why is South Park making me think this much?

and btw, Kite did talk. he had 2 lines. didnt sound like Clyde, and cant really tell if it sounded like Kenny.

I can see why people would think Kyle is Mosquito, but I think taking a beating from Cartman and then just backing down is really out of character for Kyle. Mysterion definitely feels more like Kyle, and it's not weird in comics for some other guy to take up a hero's name/costume after that hero retires. Of course, Kyle might not even be a member of C.A.F. We didn't see one of those Coon-alarms in his house.

I dont understand the hate for this episode. I loved it. Captain insight was a great jab at the media and society, the kids part were funny, and BP drilling sequence always made me laugh (especially the chtullu one)

I think Kenny is the Mint-Berry Crunch since he is the only one that has a glass of water after Cartman (The Coon) attacks Mosquito.
And everyone els has Milkshakes.

I think Kenny is the kite and mysterion is clyde. Kite costume is pretty shitty so it would make more sense since kenny is poor.

Episode was really funny but so far this new season hasn't been too great to me, think I need to re-watch them a few times and soak them up again. Although, the Cthulhu bit was HILARIOUS and laughed at each of the "I'm Sorry" videos, BP was so annoying with that bullcrap when it happened I'm glad South Park panned it out so bad haha. Maybe I'm just expecting too much.

Nah, going by how he behaves around Cartman through the whole series: if Mosquito was Kyle, he would have eventually gone batshit crazy and beat the shit out of Cartman after he got beat up. Somethings telling me Kyle is the Kite, Clyde is Mosquito and Kenny is Mysterion. Even though Kennys poor, he occasionaly drops a ton of cash on some things, like when he was the first person in town to buy a PSP.

you people need to go back and listen to Mosquito talk. How he sounds and what he says. The only debatable people are kite and mysterion, but I'm pushing for Clyde = mysterion myself, seeing as how Kite didn't sound like Clyde. Clues point to Clyde being Mysterion in his first episode as well.
