Yeah, that would be a bit excessive... Besides, in the case of DP, there will always be the blue trash drops for stones too. They never posted those results, but according to the notes they will also be included in the drop rate increase.

Edit: wow, I totally misread how they calculated the drops in their experiment. I thought it was 20 times in each rank, then add the golds. In reality, they ran 20 runs at C-S and counted just the final boss drops then ran another 20 runs to track the drops from the rest of the instance. Meaning instead of 68/80 golds, its 68 out of 20. You'll be seeing at least 2 golds from the run, and another from the final boss (for a total of at least 3) unless you're seriously unlucky.

They did 20 runs of Fire Temple, unlike DP where they killed every boss 20 times.
Lava Gatneri spawned 7 times, dropped 3 gold weapons.
Black Smoke Asparn spawned 8 times, dropped 1 gold weapon.
Kromede the Corrupt spawned 17 times, dropped 5 gold weapons, 7 blue weapons.
Vile Judge Kromede spawned 3 times, dropped 2 gold weapons, 2 blue weapons.
Total after 20 runs: 11 gold weapons, 9 blue weapons.
Next test will be the Eltnen and Morheim world bosses on Thursday.
Exciting stuff.
That is kind of neat. Seems semi worthwhile to go after Gatneri and Asparn, now... as opposed to the "sacrifice a virgin at midnight on Halloween" odds from before.

There are four bosses in Abyssal Splinter, but the items from this instance come from treasure boxes that appear after boss kills, as opposed to dropping off the boss itself. There are multiple types of boxes and each has its own loot available. They opened every type of box 20 times each.
After any boss is killed, 3 Genesis Treasure Boxes will appear. There are 12 of these available if all bosses are killed. They can contain ancient relics and medals, as well as kinah in every chest. After opening 20 of these boxes, they got:

It started out good, but not so much anymore. Menotios is still pathetic, and how is it that you can still get nothing from a kill?
Yea, I'm not too impressed with the results on splinter. AP gain per person averages out to about the same as I can get from running 1 inner fort with 4 people in less than half the amount of time. 30 golds after 20 runs in a 12 man instance with a 2 day lockout really isn't all that much imo, especially when compared to the DP or BT results posted.
I love how SR drop rates still fucking blow.
Well, in defense of splinter, it's a really short instance, takes an hour or so. There is next to no trash, it's basically just back-to-back bosses. The bosses are easy with an experienced group. And there are many repeat quests you can do in there, too. You can get gold armor through repeat quests (8x or 12x depending on slot). Then there's the normal quest all the forts have that rewards 1.4k AP just for doing the place. Then there's another quest that you get done every run that gives a shugo pouch with an ancient relic in it, I usually get crowns from it, has been greater crown most of the time for me. And another repeat that can be completed every 3 runs you do, which gives a platinum medal.
Only boss I haven't downed is Yamennes on hard mode, done easy mode several times. My first run through on patch day, we didn't realize killing the aether fragments made him harder, so we ended up fighting him on hard mode and at Lv51... he killed us all in about 20 seconds flat.
The changes to crafting are amazing imo :D

Korean Test Server Patch Notes 11/3/2010
Thanks to the help of our translator Kalsteine, we've been able to translate the current Korean test server patch notes. Please remember that these changes are not guaranteed to make it to the live version in Korea (they are only test server notes) and they're certainly not guaranteed to make it to the NA version. They do, however, give us a good idea of the types of changes that Aion will be going through in the future as far as what the developers are looking at. The original patch notes these are translated from are up on the Korean Powerbook.
Patch Notes
! : This update is already patched and implemented on the current patch server.
Keep in mind that patches made on the regular servers might be different from the current one.
- Change of the crafting system : We lessened the ingredients needed for crafting and also lowered the difficulty of the Artisan Quest, making it more accessible to acquire the Draconic Design.
- Change of quest difficulty :
We lowered the difficulty of level 50 Daevanion quests and lessened the daily quests. Also, infiltration quests have also gone through lowered difficulty.
Overall Patch Items
- Level 50 Daevanion quests difficulty lowered.

- With three normally crafted items you can create a critical item.

The Quest NPC will now always show at a certain time: For the below two quests the NPCs for it used to show up at a random time but now they show up at a certain time.
Raised the chance to acquire Light of Luck and Tear of Luck from collecting.
The chance to acquire the items needed for the below two quests have been lowered. These items were also able to be acquired through collecting and we raised the chance to get the items through collecting. For Elyos Perer, Griffonia and Lunime will get you the quest items and for Asmodae it will be Gaino, Leopis and Amarilis.
You can now kill Captain Zanata and still clear the two quests below. The 51 + Dungeon Chantra Dredgion's monster, Captain Zanata will now also clear the quests below.
New type of Helpful pet
You will now be able to purchase a new type of pet from the Capital city of each race's pet vendors. This new Pet is called the Stubborn Poroko and it has the chance to acquire different types of collectible materials and a low chance to acquire New Heroic Wings through a Wing Bundle.
Also, the pet vendors will now sell a new type of pet food and Poroko will only eat this new type of food. You can also feed the existing pets the new type of pet food as well.
! : It will also be easier to acquire ingredients. We also raised the chances to get certain items such as Diamonds, Saphires, Rubies, Ferilla, Griffonia, Narcissus, Amarillis and Od.
The chances to get special ingredients only acquired from killing certain monsters was raised. The following are examples of lowered costs with the original craft recipe on the left and the new craft recipe on the right.

Normal ranked items can now be recycled!
! : How advanced design works.
3 of normal ranked items + 3 flux + Shop item A + Shop item B = Crit Craft item.
Remember those white items you made trying to make a crit? Did you just vendor those? Well guess what now you can recycle them.
This new patch brings advanced Design where 3 normal items can be crafted into a 100% guaranteed craft crit items. You can buy these designs from major cities of each race.
As you can see from below you need other stuff other than the normal items, flux and two shop items. You can buy the other two items from the vendors in major cities with Kinah.
This only works from Normal to magic, you can't have 3 magic items to make a higher rank.

We recently made a change where you can just simply trade in a certain number of Draconic hearts for Draconic Designs of your choice. Also, you can buy the designs even if you are not an artisan of a certain crafting profession.

Lowered the difficulty of Collector / Crafting Artisan quest
Change of Artisan quest: Instead of continuously trying to get a crit of your crafting to become an artisan, now you can just buy the design and create once and voila! Now you are an artisan.
Items required for quest completion have been changed and now you can buy the required item design from the shop.

When purchasing the design there is a one with 25% chance to succeed and 100% you can choose one of your choice. Now there is no hassle of trying to get 2 or 3 crits during crafting.
Also raised the chance of gathering the required item for the collector Artisan quest.
Some of Daily quests have been turned to Weekly quests
Some of the quests that were daily quests have been turned to into weekly quests. Some of the daily quests you could only get from being in certain organization may now be gotten through a NPC.
- Every weekly quest is reset on Wednesday at 9AM
- You cannot receive the quest until the quest is reset
- Current existing daily quests will be removed and can be acquired through a NPC
- You cannot get certain faction quests without being part of the faction
Lowered the difficulty to get Siel's Weapons
We lowered the difficulty to get Siel's Weapon to Siel's Dominant weapons. If you were one of those who gave up during the quest because of the difficulty, I suggest you try again!
Siel's Weapon, which is famous for its beautiful design.
All the items required for upgrading from lower Siel item to higher has been lowered to 1.
Other quest changes
Coin Quest reward changes:
- Changed the amount of coins acquired from the daily quest.
- Solo quests will give you 2 coins and one coin box.
- Party quests will give you 5 coins and one coin box.
- Quest giving Iron coins will now reward 5.
- Quest giving Platinum coins will now reward 2 and will also give you Eye of an Angel/Eye of Demon as a side reward.
The number of repeats for some of the weapon / armor rewarding repeat quests have been lowered.
- Lowered the repeat number on Steel Rake quests.
- Inggision and Gelkmaros repeat quest numbers were reduced.
- Nightmare repeat quest numbers were reduced.
Elyos Infiltration quest difficulties were reduced:
- Some of the pre-requisite quests were removed.
- Item drop rates for certain quest items were raised and are also able to be acquired through all of the party members.
- Quest Solid Evidence's quest item will be placed outside of the instance.
- RM-114c's number increased.
Asmodae's Infiltration quest difficulties were reduced:
- Some of the item drop rates for quests have been increased and also can be acquired through all of the party members.
- The quest Undead Destroyer's Ring will no longer require you to kill an elite, but instead a weakened downed version for solo players.
Removed the quest needed for entering Fire Temple: You no longer need to do quests to get the key to enter the Fire Temple. Elyos will be able to enter at level 30 and Asmodae at level 27.
