I know :D
My friend has the Noble Sky Dragon Emperor's tome design and all the pre requisites. I'm curious to how many firm balaur scales I'll need when patch hits because right now, 50+ at 200k each is basically impossible for me.

Afaik, you can only combine three white items to get a green one. It only got added to help with HHoM.
Those patch notes aren't a part of 2.1, they're from an upcoming patch that hit the KR PTS just last week. And the crafting update does only apply to turning the common quality (white) items into their superior versions. It won't work for any Worthy/Expert/Master crafts. And I'm pretty sure that HHoM is not included in the recipes affected, nor are balic recipes.
In a lot of cases for weapons, the 3 nonproc to 1 proc craft won't be worthwhile mathematically. You lose more money buy not selling them to a vendor than you gain by getting a proc.
There are absolutely times when I'd gladly shell out a little extra money to get the item I'm going for. I went 1/45 trying to make myself a blue bow and crafted staves just don't exist.
Yeah, but more greens mean more chances of the blue I want. I had been trying to make a friend a level 40 bow so that we could eventually get to the expert and I went something like 4/36 on the first tier alone.
I could probably just buy you the bow with the easily absurd cash flow in 2.0. Ha. I also know a place I could help you get exp.
A bit sad they didn't escalate the failed proc conversion for higher tiers. They could've done it like 3 white = 1 green, 4 green = 1 blue, 5 blue = 1 gold, and so on. Still giant money pits, but eventually someone could get to something if they really wanted and not get cockblocked by the RNG.
Guess I'm curious about the 2.0 cash flow since money was an issue for me. If it's not gladiator friendly or requires a group, though, it's pretty much a no go since my luck there always sucked with PUGs.
I've been doing everything solo since I got back in game and in like a week I've made 13 mil just doing the solo instance and other quests have been giving like 100-300k a pop.
Money is so easy to make now. Just by questing my way from 50-55 on my two characters, I was easily making 5mil/day by leveling up. Slowed down when I hit 55, since I can no longer justify doing quests... Doing Talloc's Hallow usually nets me at least 1mil though, takes 50min for a full clear. Sometimes I get screwed, but usually at least 1mil and I've gotten up to 4mil in a single run.
Even money pre-balauria is pretty easy to make. I'm seeing people able to actually afford to buy gold gear for their level, such as Lv33 gold gloves/boots on their first character. I mean, everyone was able to buy those for their alts, but only a few were able to afford to buy them for their very first character before.
I guess I was just terribly unlucky on drops, then, and the silent nerf on vendor trash didn't help my disposition any. Still not sure I want to jump back into the game given PvP's still rather imbalanced, plus I still have lots of little crap to do in XI with the December update and the last Abyssea add-on pending, too. Bleh. Would be a non-issue if I wasn't budgeting my RL cash.
Oh, I was talking all about questing post-2.0. They increased the kinah rewards on old quests, as well as having already high kinah rewards for the 50-55 quests.
If you played pre-2.0, then you didn't see the increased quest rewards we have now.
Money is a joke in 2.0, lol
Oh, also if anyone hasn't heard, November 17 is the official date that 2.1 will be live on our servers. I'm assuming we're going to see it on the PTS this week, likely Wednesday.
Well, the original source was very reliable (quarterly conference call to investors), and it was confirmed by Trine yesterday, and the EU CM's over the weekend as well. I doubt they'd push it back considering they already promised the date to their investors, and they are liable if they don't meet that now.
