Another newb car part question

seph is right, parts like those are in most cases unscathed. If anything they are covered with dust/dirt from the junkyard. If you do want it new and have some local "ricerocket" body shops for some aftermarket version. for like-new id go to a VW forum and find someone parting out their vw w/ forum members discount pricing.

Have you been to a junkyard before? Most modern cars end up there because they piled into something and were deemed not worth fixing. Not because someone didn't feel like driving it anymore. These do in fact, just fall out. All the time.

i use to frequent the junk yard till they started getting greedy and overpriced. Newer cars i see there are usually T-boned, front/rear end smashed in or have one of their ends trashed. that or go to pick-a-part, but that's for old cars. its all luck on w/e looking for parts, but you can still find it and the part in question isn't something not salvageable from a bad wreck.
