Hey fellow BGers, got a question for what to do about a situation I got myself into.

I went on a vacation with a friend a few months ago and I let her borrow $100 from me. She needed it for the taxi ride back and such. She says she'll pay me back when she has the cash. I don't sweat it, thinking it will be fine.

Fast forward three months. I ask her about it and she says she's sending me a check for half of it and asks for my address.

I give it to her, fast forward a week. Now she texts me, all in one text, that says she sent the check, but no one cashed it, and she says she's worried about it so she spent $25 to cancel the check, and that now she's allegedly sending another one (first time I really sense BS, I don;t think she ever actually sent it...)

I just texted her back "Ok" and no more, as I don't want to ignore it, but I also don't want to appear that I've bought the BS that I think she's feeding me. $100 isn't that big of a deal to me, but I really feel like I need to maybe just text her and that I'll go pick up the money in person, which I probably should have done along. Otherwise I may never get anything.

Any advice for how I should handle this?

Most banks will charge anywhere from $20-35 to cancel a check, if you're at a bank that does it for free count yourself as lucky.
