Falcons may be the best in the NFC. I don't know what the deal is with the Saints, their defense is better but the offense has been in some kind of weird funk all season. They also aren't getting all of the bounces like they did last year, they definitely would have recovered the Ben Patrick fumble last year.

I missed the game, but looking at the stats it is VERY nice to see Turner have a strong game, I was starting to really get worried about him. The defense looks completely different from last year, it has a certain toughness that hasn't been there in the past. You know things are going well when Jamaal Anderson gets a sack.

When the hell did the Raiders get such a good secondary?

The Raider's secondary hasn't been bad for a while. It's their rushing defense and offense that have been festering piles of crap. San Diego's running game is in the toilet now, so the first part wasn't a problem, and special teams and defense scored points, so the offense wasn't on the field as much to screw everything up.

Falcons are scary this year for the same reason that the Saints were scary last year: they found ways to win in clutch situations, even if some of it looked like a fluke. The Falcs, even though when I look at them they don't look "elite", are a team that will hang in every game, and you just know they're going to run deep into the postseason.

The second-to-last Raiders drive was incredible. It was classic football. Pound the rock, use misdirection often, and give your defense plenty of rest. I dunno if it'll be enough to turn the corner, but its was refreshing as hell to watch.

Edit: Yeah, I'm a skins homer for life, but fuck if the team doesn't make me lose my damned hair. I'm so jealous of teams like the Ravens, who can put a game away in the 3rd quarter and you as a fan can relax. Skins games - win or lose - always come down to the fucking wire, so I can never rest. I had to root for my bro's Raiders today too, so it was a double-dose.

The offense should be better than how it is playing. Conservative playcalling makes it look worse than it can be. I think the offense will look better with Jenkins healthy back on the outside and Douglas in the slot.
