Well for me...
windower.net/resources seems to resolve to 208.60.143.50 whereas
resources.windower.net seems to resolve to 209.239.114.7
So some people's issues could be similar DNS resolver problems.
Hmm tried it from work and they both map correctly ; unmodified hosts file.
guessing pc or routers cache.
start > run > cmd > ipconfig /flushdns
or
reboot router.
If anyone else is still having a recast problem after getting the new resources file, they should open up the Resources VER file manually and replace the number within that file with "0000001286782263" (without quotes). For whatever reason, the VER file that recast/spellcast pushes out points to a previous version of the resources.
I guess my problem was the dns resolution between the two xmls? I donwloaded the "correct" one and now mana wall shows up correctly.
To clarify, if you open up the xml in your browser rather than saving it you'll see a comment at the very top. It should be of the format <!--T##############--> (arbitrary number of #s, you get the point). Once your xml reverts to the 2008 build, you'll need to open up resources.ver, paste in the numbers (drop the T), save that, then unload Recast, save the resources.xml file again (DON'T delete resources.ver), and reload Recast. It should be functional after that.
I say this because a new version was released today and it has a different value at the top, so using the above wouldn't give you the most recent version. Would love to know why this is happening and if there's anything that can be done![]()
god damn finally got it working. I had to use this http://resources.windower.net/resources.xml link, then cut and paste 0000001287339000 into resources.ver
