    Specific timings to learn...

Okay so Blizzard added a new feature to the game which displays a timer above the minimap showing how far into the game you are. Now with this little clock it makes it easier for those of us who are not on the pro level to spot timings that might be otherwise hard to gauge by just the feel alone.

For example I tried a 6 pool on steppes of war vs Protoss.

    2:15 6 lings hatch
2:50 zerglings arrive as his ramp

Why is this important you ask? Well since a lot of players at all brackets and even in low/mid diamond cheese a majority of the games I think it would be important to learn timings on these maps so we can better anticipate cheeses and just be better prepared overall.

Some other things I would like to add at some point is other timing pushes like a thor drop on LT or banshee rush with cloak so you know as a zerg player that if they are teching that you should make an extra queen at 5:30 or have a overseer by 6:20 if your unable to scout it and prepare for it somewhat.

So if anyone wants to work on this with me and play some league games or some 1v1 games and record some timings and post them it would really help

Only race I play is zerg atm, so I could be a guinea pig to use the thor drop thing on.

Be careful using the timer. Super early stuff (like 6pool timing) and basic opener timings are probably fine, but Tier 2+ tech timing has a ton of variables, and subtle things can really throw you off. Typically, rather than basing these things on actual times, you want to base on scouting the front of their base for units and structures and expos. Or if you're trying to refine your own builds (rather than using it for opponent intel), you're gonna wanna base it on your money and the order you want/need things to happen.

I play starcraft with my feeling, fuck the timer!

Build order is fine for the first 15-20 workers, but after that, it's kinda pointless imo. Too many variables to take into account.

Well some things like knowing when a proxy reaper might show up or a cannon finishing if he cannon cheeses you is good to know.

I do agree that some timings become too hard to predict after 25+ supply but its still nice if they went for a fast banshee with cloak, fast thor(with or without drop) or fast DT where you should be. Like say you see a dark shrine go down, then you know you have X amount of time to get an overseer or detection ready.

Also its not perfect because delayed tech can be just as effective since the opportunity to DT rush you is past but 5 minutes later you get DT dropped and now your caught with your pants down.

Either way I still want to get some numbers for the cheeses and maybe some standard builds like VR rush as I lost to it because not enough drones/tech too slowly :/
