It's easy to repair gear in other games I've played with the mechanic.

If it was easy to repair the gear, i.e., not involving wasted time actually finding what needs to be repaired, un-equipping it, switching to the correct DoH class, THEN actually doing the repair. Even getting your shit repaired at the npc is a pain.

I would also like for items that are needed for repair to have a separate inventory section, like shards and crystals.

But overall, I just don't like the durability aspect.

They'd need to change a few aspects of how it works for it to be useful.

    - Reduce the loss by... 300% give or take? Shouldn't need to repair for at least 2-3 hours
    - Make it so you don't have to unequip to repair or seek repair
    - Make it so you can automatically "give" the repair material to a crafter to repair, it's a complete pain to have a crafter have every single piece of repair material on hand to fix your stupid shit
    - Make repairs easier to access and set up. Why the hell do you have to waste 2 bazaar slots to seek repair? Why?!?!?!

<_< I hate SE's new bazaar system... even though I do like the essence of seeking.

Well it happens with other mobs too, I just lost my temper and posted that log because its what was available. Dodo's near Skull Valley were the same thing. Glowfly's/Moles in some cave there were even worse (and its not while I was under glowfly blind).

inb4 "no rings/earrings gimp"...be nice if I could fucking find some. None of that armor (according to the stats pages) have any effect on accuracy, other than the DEX+2 on the harness and DEX+1 on the Breeches.

I think the other problem is all your armor gets fucked up while youre doing other things, like mining and crafting.

Armor is effected by those things as well. Dex does not add accuracy to your status afaik.

Anything that's Weathered, you might as well just pay the NPC to repair whenever you're near them. It costs a laughable 70~100 gil to repair weathered crap.

I agree, the system right now just utterly blows. I'm not going to run to town every hour to fix my gear, and there's no way in hell I'm going to have enough anima to port back and forth. I'm also not going to level 4 different crafts to keep my gear repaired, nor will I bring a team of crafters to keep me repaired. So wtf am I supposed to do, carry three sets of equipment?

To even fit into their little proof-of-concept example they made about Leeroy on the official site, they need to cut back the wear rate big time. They described him only hammering the dents out of his weapon at the end of the day. Not at the end of each dozen fights.

I don't think gear blows up after an hour of strenuous use in other games, but I may be wrong. I'm not wrong with any of the games I've played with, though, unless there's a durability penalty on death and people are dropping like flies for the entire hour.

A lot of other games also don't incur a stat penalty when durability drops below 50% which only compounds on the issue that npcs can't repair past 75%. I'm constantly having to go to the npc to repair my Brass Gladius because, despite the recipe for the sword being listed as a blacksmithing recipe, I need goldsmithing to repair the sword due to it being made of brass.

I know the rate at which shit wears is way too fast and the cost and inconsistencies of repairing are way too high in this version of the game. I was saying that in regards to people saying "gear wear is retarded, it needs to be taken out of the game" and the like.

There's a lot of shit I hate about how gear wears in this game, in fact, I don't even like gear durability in any game...

I'm not saying you do like it. I was simply stating my piece. Gear wear, like just about everything else in the game right now, is going to take a lot of fine-tuning. The question is if and when?

Its getting hard for me to sort out which features are the most pressing that need to get fixed, because there are simply so many already. If I were them, though, I'd stop being so heavy-handed with limiting players and actually let people enjoy what they're playing without so much of a crushing focus on upkeep. Its bad enough that you can't devote an entire afternoon to fighting at a cool camp or series of camps with friends because you're always having to run back for something, or suffer some consequence as a result.

It's really not that big of a deal for what they need to do, which is: increase the durability of all equipment and make the repair npc repair to 80% AND suffer no penalties until gear falls under 40%. They can totally leave degrade rate alone for now if they just did this. It's not TOO bad when your gear has over 20k durability(which also needs to be raised) since you're not repairing every hour. Undergarment durability sitting at 5k is what's just stupid. I don't mind the system but they really need to make it so you can do steady xp for 4 hours before you need repairs.

No one mind it in other mmo because there is repair npc every where and you can do it in less than 3 seconds. It's perfectly understandable to have a penalty for death and money sink in your game, but the current implementation just suck.

I know they were trying to give crafters a purpose , but shit, there was better way to do it (ex: crafters deliver material to the repair npc accross the world, and repair npc fix all your gears in one click).

The repair option in bazaars should allow me to offer the component to repair the gear with, as mentioned above.

I'd hate to recommend a change to their awesome UI, but I wish there was a tab or something I could look at that would show only items with durability stats (kind of how they filter out the regular inventory crap when you're on the first screen selecting a weapon to change to). Hell, I just learned yesterday that the currency tab showed the guildmarks that I've earned. I thought that the only way I'd find out how many guildmarks I had was at the actual guild (can you blame me though? They don't have a sort option...) when I bring up the purchase list.

As for the ACC issue, the enemies seem to hit me a ton more than I connect at the moment too. The only thing I can say that I am doing right is that I'm allowing them to beat themselves to death on Punishing Barbs due to their obvious ACC advantage. It is allowing me to complete level 20 leves for marks on my 10s though when I don't think I'd normally be able to do them. I did not know that marks would be offered to all of my rank 10 classes, so I was kinda caught off guard when I learned that I had to play as them to get the marks as rewards.
