    New PC stability tests

I'm planning on building a new PC this week just as soon as the parts are delivered. After I get it up and running I'd like to run some stability tests to ensure it's all in working order before I install a bunch of stuff on it. I plan to run a pass of memtest86x on the RAM and 3dmark on the GPU. I was also thinking of running Prime95 but I don't plan to overclock this machine any time soon so is stress testing the CPU even necessary if the machine POSTS? If so for how long would you all recommend? Is there any other stress test programs I should use in addition to the others mentioned? Thanks in advance.

If you do run prime95, which I would recommend on a new machine, I'd go for at least 8 hours if I can stand waiting that long (easy to do while you sleep). Running some kind of HD test like HDtach (there might be something newer and better) wouldn't hurt either while you're running the gambit.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll run prime95 for a few hours just to be safe and I'll take a look at some sort of HDD tester.

OCCT is a very good test for PSU(and indirectly CPU/GPU) as it can put max load on both GPU and CPU at the same time.
