I seriously wouldn't mind seeing all skill procs reduced dramatically, so long as some consistency were established.
This ^10. Skill gain being random is the worst fucking mechanic; I'd gladly give up AH, sorting, and damn near anything else in their next updates for them to replace this with a new system so that I know that when I kill something I get some kind of predictable progress reward.

Just to add my own "wtf at this shit" story, my wife and I were xping this morning for 2 hours near camp tranquil. For that entire time, I was getting 200-300 per mob, while she was getting 100-150 (I started at lvl 10, she at lvl 13, we finished as almost-13 and 14). After lunch we headed back to the same clearing and mobs, where she proceeded to average the 200+ that I was getting previously, and I started recieving the 100-150 she was getting. We were using the same gear, weren't really doing anything different. The only real difference that I could see is that we did stop to get our gear repaired, but I can't see that that would make much of a difference. By the time we finished she is back to almost 2 full levels ahead.

There's a certain degree of randomness on a fight by fight basis, but its all coming together to even out in the longterm.. at least in my eyes. I find that people usually complaining about poor gains consistently are like.. the drooler Cons standing around idle waiting for damage to snipe heals, or auto attack heroes/melee with low acc based on what we're fighting.

It seems to me more like there's a certain degree of randomness on an X basis, where X is also random and is changing all the time. I was the one getting 12k / hour, yet we'd move a few times because other people weren't happy. All of a sudden, 10 fights in a row and I get zero while they're now getting good skill. And it wasn't low accuracy, on "good" mobs I would proc skill over 75% of my hits, on bad mobs I would proc skill never, and end up with 0 most of the time. They weren't mobs that were dying in 1 hit either, they'd stay alive long enough for me to get 7-10 hits in always.

Pertaining to the accuracy, i've read that dex does not effect accuracy and only rings/main hand do. Is that a fact? Or does Dex effect accuracy in a way that isnt shown on the stat table? I do tend to miss quite a bit on certain mobs, but then on the next pull ill hit almost 100% on it, which seems odd to me.

I believe Dexterity is a modifier for your skill accuracy along with Strength raising the dmg cap on them. I do think it's a combination of things though. Your rank vs mob's rank and their eva too (obviously).

What I'd like to test is what the STR and DEX caps are on each skill tier and on each skill specifically. On a slightly different thought, it would make sense to do this as a means to give players a little more freedom to add stat points in other areas making it easier to rank multiple classes rather than just max out specific stats. Each skill tier just like the spell tiers have caps placed on them. You could add all the STR in the world and not do a lick more of dmg at some point.

each action has a chance to give you a skill up, if its from your class you get more, between 60-300 depending on party bonus and mob level, if its not you still get sp, between 8 and 50.

some actions give more sp and others less.. poison on thm is great, i get 150-300 SP on blind efts at rank 23.

resisted spells dont give sp, misses also dont.

All debuffs are in the same category. Poison, dia, slow, banish debuff, etc. None should give more than the other. Also fairly sure I see the same numbers on cure/sac, so don't think class matters.

most likely the amount is related to the strength of the action, thats why if you equip something from another class you get less sp, althought some spells can land full power giving probably full sp too.

i got full sp for a Dia (80) on Conjurer few hours ago, i also got many 20-40's for it and 8-20's for syphon

class rank * 2 +32 = hard cap for stats. easy to test with vitality or mind. if your rank 20 then your hard cap is 20*2+32= 72 for attritubes. if you have 72 vitality and u equip a piece of gear with +3 vit your hp wont change at all. if you set it at 70 and equip that piece you will only gain 2 vitality worth of hp. after 72 vit you wont gain any benefit at all etcetc

I have to say that this is False

Talking from a Lalafell Conjurer 25

    so 25*2 + 32 = 82

I have 90 vit and I still get HP

Should cap at 90 or 92 at 25, I think the '+2 cap extra every rank a multiple of 4 after r10' part was left out.

It'll give 0 in both cases. VIT from gear doesn't give HP.
