Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Driver: 2.18.0015
I have been using an optical cable from my PS3, plugged into my Creative X-Fi for the longest time. I remember having issues with getting it to work the first time I plugged it in, but after a reboot it suddenly just worked, so I didn't bother to change anything. Now I've unplugged the PS3 for a while as it was broken, and as I plug it back in, I don't get any sound from the S/PDIF in on my Creative X-Fi.
The PS3 is set to transmitting Optical Digital>Linear PCM 2Ch. 44.1 kHz+48 kHz and uses Audio Multi-Output. This is how I had it set before when it worked.
Under Recording Devices on my pc, the S/PDIF-In displays as "Currently unavailable". It is enabled and set to "Listen to this device" as well as directed to playback through my speaker device. Under Levels it's set to 100 and is unmuted. Balance is 100/100. Format is 2ch, 24bit, 45 kHz.
Opening Creative Audio Control Panel and going to the tab for Bit-Matched shows that the S/PDIF-In is recognizing a signal as <Unknown> bit, stereo, 48000Hz which is not there if I unplug it, which should mean that somewhere along the line at least it's recognizing that there's a cable inserted...
What do D: Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if there's a third party control panel that is amazing that I can use instead of Creative's own, then please direct me to it, as I'm tired of Creative not having anything decent.
Thanks~
