It's a small step granted.....but none the less a step in the right direction. This "planned" update deals with ~75% more or less of the issues most players complain about. If the game didn't try so hard to make us not enjoy it...

Retainers sell different, valid stuff. My NPC is selling different kinds of weapons and armor atm, all from goldsmithing, it's impossible for her to be in the "right" ward. You don't get it do you? Assuming the searches only search one ward it isn't going to help much as there's still every real chance the item you want is on sale cheaper in another ward.

I'll give you the point about the bell being applied to multiple retainers making it take longer to search, I misread that part. Disagree with the rest of your post.

If your mule is primarily for GS then stick it in the GS ward, put the other random shit you have on your own bazaar and sell it everywhere. And maybe they will let us search across multiple wards, then the whole argument is moot. Maybe 10s isn't totally accurate, but I still think it'll be as fast as the ffxi AH.

Your last comment I don't understand. When did I mention anything about rmt equaling bots? My comment was about bots in general no matter what the botter is, and that with the server side checks for everything conventional botting wouldn't be possible.

Way to read waaaay too far into what he/she was saying. The point was that he/she does not know what WoW is all about so it's not just them wanting the game to be more like WoW... just that these aspects are what they think would make FFXIV a better game.

That was just the most obvious quote to use. There was a comment another page or so back that poked fun at WoW's gameplay. WoW has, by far, the best gameplay of any MMO I've played. While I might agree to their point that all MMO's lack gameplay to some extent, to completely overlook gameplay for an MMO would be retarded since it's still one of the biggest factors in choosing one.

And lets not kid ourselves here, there are LOTS of people who my post applies to perfectly well. There are tons of people who kept on playing FFXI without giving WoW any bit of a shot just because of things they've heard about it, just bias from the beginning. I was the same way back in the day, I hated WoW and there was really no reason for it. Once I no longer worshiped SE and gave WoW a shot, I'm of a different mind about the game. I'd still prefer a good FF MMO though.
