If you don't like the fundamentals that's one thing, but if you just aren't patient enough to let SE fix the large list of things that they themselves said they are fixing... I get curious on the actual reasoning behind people's dislike for things. Sometimes it's just, other times... not so much. There are quite a few good points throughout this thread on reasons for flaming XIV. Laggy serverside UI requests being my number 1 complaint. Just because I like the basics doesn't mean I think the game is golden.

I think the biggest common thread you see is that it is very rare to see people having similar positive experiences. Some people are getting consistent SP on their jobs, have met friends, and are having a generally good time. Most others however are hampered by the many flawed systems, the frustration of leveling their jobs, lack of content, and difficulty finding new friends / social groups. I'm in the between at the moment and the lack of making any real headway on my character in my casual style is beginning to wear me down.

I have a great LS in XIV which is the ONLY reason I think I'm still playing. Having taken CNJ to 30 (more/less, 9K to 30) I'm getting 1-2K SP an hour while melee are raking in 10-20K an hour.

I can agree with this. I rake in way more SP soloing leves than I ever do in exp parties. I usually get a bit more than 1-2k an hour in parties, but not much more. Melee on the other hand, double or triple my xp gains.

See, if I go in groups I can get 500 SP per fight, vs solo I am getting 100. This is as a Conjurer too, to me it has just encouraged group play, which is more enjoyable anyway to me. I do agree though that I am still being outpaced by DoW classes though, which sucks.

It's going the complete opposite way for me, with a lot of my friends bitching that they're not getting enough SP while melee'ing. Then they get bored and decide to go solo instead. I can spit out a cure or a Protect and get 100-200 SP instantly, most of the time. I really do love to party but with my friends all melee and getting bored there isn't much to do at the moment besides running from city to city to do leves. Maybe when SE fixes the Battle Regimen system combat will be more fun?

You know why you all have vastly different experiences? Because the fucking skill point gain is random as fuck. That's as retarded as it gets.
It will be this way forever unless they take out the randomness of it.

I don't even understand why something that is basically the equivalent of EXP... but for your classes is even random. How does that sound like a good idea to anyone, really?

Shit's been around since the 80's, its just never been this bad for basic, common shit. People aren't trying to fight pink puffs 1/256 chance for pink tails 1/512 to get the adamant fucking armor. People are trying to level up their basic characters.

I have to agree with this, even though I like the game overall, I'm getting really frustrated with SP on my PGL. I get just as much or even more SP from farming blue dodos as I do soloing yellow crabs or aldgoats. The RNG sucks, SP should be adjusted according to mob level.

As for me trolling, the game itself would have to actually be moving in an interesting direction and right now it's not and there's better games to troll.
