Is it the best you could do? I'm done arguing, you're just trolling.

What else is there? This shit simply isn't important. Not when you look at it as one game or as a series. I want to make it clear how stupid you all sound.
Also FFXIV has chocobos, airships, (classic) magic, magical metals, etc etc. So this isn't even an argument about "trademarks". Only jobs.
EQ and EQ2
As much as I think ffxiv is failing hard atm, I always find statements like this rather silly.
Ulitma Online is still being played. MMOs very rarely "get shut down". In the beginning I could believe people thinking that there are life spans to mmos without knowing any better. At this point people need to realize that once a game is underway it doesn't take much to keep it running, and as long as companies are making a profit off them they will keep going forever.
Important? Define important here. No, it wouldn't change anything to the gameplay, but yes, people would be more tolerant to the shitty gameplay if they were playing a classes they were emotionally attached to. How much would it change? Not much, but every little bit count.
[edit]
Why do you think AF were such a popular goal in FFXI? Replace them with generic set, and you lose a fair chunk of the population because they have nothing to look forward.
You can deny this all you want, but the fact remain that players wanted to wear their jobs clothes only because it meants more than just stats.
It's quite a stretch to think there won't be enough Final Fantasy nostalgia to keep people interested just because Conjurer isn't called Black Mage and Marauder isn't called Warrior. Not to mention the game just fucking launched. Did we expect to see iconic equipment right off the bat and are we foretelling a future where they won't add anything comparable to "Artifact" equipment?
That is actually a strong reason as to why I dislike this game.
That's ridiculous.
How long are you going to drag "the game just fucking launched" excuse? I'm curious.
They can add all the nostalgia they want later, it will be too late. The game failled hard time at giving people long term objectives.
Also, NPC could at least sport the traditional outfit until then, but no go.
Yes, who cares about the context.
Answer: until it's not true and the game gets its first content-update a whopping couple months down the road?
Now that the obvious shit has been beaten to death, the crap you are pulling out of your ass to cry about is mind-boggling.
Sorry Mioko, I forgot FFXIV was a great success. SquareEnix must be doing thing right, it's the world that don't get it. That's your context.
Huh? How does that even follow.
You are trying way too hard to butt heads here and I don't even think you understand what I said.
They released terrible game. That's your context. If you think the first update is going to fix everything, you're retarded.
What? I said that the first update was "going to fix everything?" You must have no idea how to read. I don't even know how to argue about things I didn't even imply. So, enjoy bitching about your class names and lack of JSE gear less than 2 months after lv.50-cap launch.
In the alpha, people excuse for the shittiness was "it's just an alpha". Well, guess what? Six months later, the same flaws are still in the games, and people are repeating the same bullshit. It's evolving at turtle pace, and "the game just launched" is a fucking terrible argument.
You will need more than a miracle update to save the game.
It will take several miracles to get the game where it wants to be. SE should probably look into contacting spiritual leaders from around the world and build a secular, yet non-denominational shrine where they can all gather and perform their miracle-inducing rituals.
Only kidding about that religious nonsense of course.
Or they could just fire everyone on their concept team and hire people on BG that know what they're talking about.
Hmm... that could work. Seriously.
Kaylia made an excellent point that follows the theme of half-baked game design in this pile of shit game.
The fact that the jobs, "magic", or anything else resembling Fantasy in this game is so fucking generic is the first red flag that popped up when this game went alpha. There really is no strong argument for NOT keeping the FF Tactics-style online formula that made FFXI actually worth sticking around when greeted by such a bastardly leveling system at launch.
Answer this: Do you believe FFXI would be even half as successful as it was at the beginning if they decided to make bland, unidentifiable jobs with names like thautawhothefuckmage? Hell no, why not go play any number of boring ass PC MMO clones with zero flavor and monotonous level grinds?
And YES, I would play a FFXI clone with updated graphics over this bucket of fail in a heartbeat. Keep in mind, they would have more opportunities to improve so much of what handicapped FFXI, instead of pulling hairs developing stupid shit like a failed exp/battle-system.
Thank you retarded rambling man.
True, only thing I can't report about is the amount of playtime needed to achieve something in both EQs.EQ and EQ2
For example it wouldnt surprise me to have both GW and GW2 active for the long run.
I can only speak for FF requirements, which are enormous, and that was my point because I dont think many people will be able to handle 6hrs grind in ff11 then switch to another 6hrs grind in ff14. Might be wrong tho, you know there's always surprises when it comes to people.
As for Riposte, did you really mean "i'ts obvious one day both games will be shut down" as in "we are all gonna die someday"?
Or you meant they're both so ugly the both deserve to go down next week?
