Heh. I do give them credit for the extended free trial and the info they've released in the past few weeks about what they're doing. I had already given away all my items and gil and had canceled but now I'm sticking around until at least the end of the free trial out of curiosity.

Magian trials are fun to me for these reasons:
1) constant cheap reminder of progress
2) solo is efficient, group is more so & there's no competition just friendly helping each other out.
3) the final weapons are usually the best for their class, are "free", and unique weapons can be made that allow for completely new gear builds
4) the armor is just amazing, and to be so casually accessable makes me happy because it is a complete 180 from 11's prior track record.

Your ”logic" is retarded, imo, because you laughed at the inherent nature of video games like ANY video game (14 included) isn't a repeated loop.

It's not that they are more shiny, it's that it's more fun to get shinies now. You don't stand in a pit for hours only paying attention every 30 minutes to get the good stuff.

No 2 grinds are created equal. Grind A may be more fun than grind B. Grinding merits when ToAU launched and nobody but a select few knew of the good spots was/is far more fun than grinding alchemy in XIV. It was fast, it was fun, the music was good, and the rewards were pretty damned nice compared to the fastest spots pre-ToAU.

No, its just more of the same for every MMO.

MMO A: You grind like a chinese fucker but has a lot of shinies
MMO B: You grind like a half braindead retard but the shinies are dull and not really shiney
MMO C: You grind in between, and the shininess of the shinies is in between too

No MMO has a BETTER shiney grind, they are just on different levels. I've yet to see any MMO with super nice shinies (Read most Asian MMOs) while still having a decent leveling experience (Most Western MMOs)

Hell if I was going to build an MMO id just recruit an asian art team and a western leveling team.
