Oh, I plan to, I been checking out the game here and there. Will either play it real soon or a few weeks before Oceans releases.

play it now, i would never steer you wrong~
Still need to finish ARF <_> How many hours can I expect to sink in RF:F though?
I put like 150 or 175 and I didn't even finish leveling all my crops to 10
Fucking jeez, that's a lot, lol. Maybe I should just play it on and off then, but I'm afraid I may forget about it if I do that.
http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/201...des_vs_grooms/Rune Factory Oceans lets players choose between Azel and Sonia,
respectively male and female main characters. But this isn't your
typical gender selection that precedes the start of the game. When
Azel and Sonia are transported to the Rune Factory world, they
end up occupying the same body. While the specifics of how you'll
change between the two haven't been shared, you will be able to
experience the game from both sides.
As with all Rune Factory and Harvest Moon games, Oceans has a
marriage component. You can woo a spouse and at some point get
married. Last week, we introduced some of the candidates.
In the latest post at the Oceans development blog, producer
Yoshifumi Hashimoto commented about how the inclusion of a
female main character will affect the marriage component and
other areas of the game.
He first assured that there will not be a drop in the number of
events or in the spouse candidate count. "For the male main
character, we have a considerable number of bride candidates," said
Hashimoto.
However, they're keeping Sonia's groom candidate count lower.
This, explained Hashimoto, is because the selection of a female main
character is new with Oceans, and they didn't want to reduce the
number of bride candidates (to make up for the time required to
make additional groom candidates).
Separate from the male/female split, Hashimoto also said that
there will be more "chance encounter" events this time. Some
events might happen if you take a stroll in the rain, for instance.
"Just by walking around every day, you'll make a variety of
discoveries."

Nothing big, but
Rune Factory Oceans Has a Surprising Control
Scheme
The PS3 version of Rune Factory Oceans is known to have Move
support. Dengeki apparently says that players will be surprised
with how the device is used. I'm not sure if the magazine has actual
details beyond this.
btw Rune Factory 3 comes out for DS this week
I can probably only do a Console RF, and not a handheld... I hate spending too much time on Handhelds, mostly DS, lol. I know with RF I'd probably sink a good 80-90+ hours in it, even with it being on DS. Main reason why though is because too much shit releasing already, and I'm already behind on a few newly released gamesStill haven't even touched FotNS and NUNS2
I did, however, spent a good 150~ hours into TWEWY
I have a limit for DS games, lol. PSP games I have no limit for though.
yeah im the same way, I always feel empty when I sink loads of time into a DS game and half the time I can't. I didn't even make it 4 hours into DQ9 lol
how far are you in Arc Rise Fantasia btw? And when are you starting RF:Frontier![]()
Last thing I remeber was fighting Chimera? I played for like 3 days, then stopped, lol. I think because I was mostly distracted by BbS still.
ah
Arc Rise Fantasia was pretty amazing, I loved the battle/weapon system and there are some haaaaaaaard battles
Yeah, I like it a lot. Actually not a bad game at all, and fights are actually challenging, which I like. I had to go back and level up for a few of them, lol. There's no NG+ is there?![]()

More Details on Rune Factory Oceans
Dengeki has a big interview with Oceans producer Yoshifumi
Hashimoto this week. Hashimoto said that he believes players will be
surprised once they learn how the game uses PlayStation Move for
its controls. He would not share specifics.
Whatever Hashimoto and crew have planned, it won't be forced.
You'll be able to opt for standard controls.
Hashimoto also discussed the inclusion of the male and female main
characters. As previously reported, the game offers fewer
potential male counterparts for the female character, Sonia,
compared to the choice of female counterparts for the male
character, Azel. It turns out that you won't even have to go after
any of the candidates. It's possible for Sonia and Azel to get
married.
Considering that Azel and Sonia occupy the same body, I'm really
wondering how this is going to work.
Hashimoto described Oceans' gameplay systems as being full of new
elements. Farm work remains in the game, but this will also have
some major changes.
Those who've never played a Rune Factory game before --
something that may be of concern to PlayStation 3 players, as the
series has thus far been exclusive to Nintendo -- should not worry
about being lost, as there's no story connection to past games.
Hashimoto noted that Oceans is not a numbered entry in the series.
He wants players to enjoy it as a new title.
In America Land? Cool. My friend was complaining about that never coming over here, she'll be pleasantly surprised.
Also, why don't they just add gay marriages and be done with it? I don't mind playing as a girl, but I'd rather play as a guyBut hey, at least I have an option this one, so I'm happy.
Average Japanese Consumer factor, sadly. Maybe if there was a trap...? Probably not quite what you're looking for. It does seem kind of silly, just put a trigger in to be able to woo one or two of the same-gender characters if you do a few things right. Don't even necessarily have to add gender-specific dialogue options, just use the het scripts. The marriage mechanic might complicate things a bit.
I gotta admit, I played RF1 and 2... and I'm just not that interested in 3. Oceans looks freaking amazing though, first Wii game I've been interested in a while. Though I do have a PS3 also.... hmm.
Can't we just make like an, iunno, nintendo wii hack that lets you court the same sex? come on hackers, how hard can it be?
I'm still smarting over not being able to be a guy and court owen in harvest moon: animal parade. ;.; Bad enough being a girl, being a bobblehead doesn't help.
That would be a really involved hack, and I don't see it happening
However, if like, the JP version had same sex marriage, and they took it out in the NA version, the very least that could be possible would be reinserting the english script into the japanese version. Depending on some stuff, it might be possible to edit the NA version, but that's really dependent upon some stuff, and possibly not very likely at all. (that should give some indication about how hard it would be to do without having the jp version to help)
