...what? that's odd to say the least.

Will not buy in that case. As tedious as it is, upgrading all of the farming equipment and doing the daily routine was part of the game, and sort of fun.
First sign of english release?

Though since it says for PS3 and Wii, kinda makes it a bit obvious it'll probably pretty much be this... Guess we'll wait till E3 to be sure.
good to hear, with both this and Xenoblade being localized I'm pretty excited we'll get some more mileage out of the wii in its twilight years.
Now we just need them to localize Earth Seeker, Last Story, Pandora's Tower, the Fatal Frame 2 remake, and Night of Sacrifice!
actually, I'll probably end up playing this on my ps3 if at all. I hear they really fucked with the farming formula from previous RF games![]()
Confirmed to release in NA later this year

Bumping, iso is out and some people lucky enough to pick up an early copy lol
oh shit, I forgot about this. Just in time, too, as I'm kinda almost done with RF3
I'm guessing the ps3 version is unplayable, so I'll dl the wii one I guess.
I wonder if something can be done with the JP eboot to get it running...
tytytytytyt for bump <3
I was totally looking forward to this, then found out about the farming bullshit a couple weeks ago. Was avoiding info because this was probably what I was looking forward to most this fall (not counting games that got pushed to next year).
If they'd left at least one large plot of land in town for you and had monsters take care of it everywhere else I'd have been fine, but not being able to control it or do the work yourself at all is like removing half the game imo. The farming and tool upgrading was always just as much fun/important to me as the dungeon crawling.
I keep going back and forth debating on whether to get it or not anyway, I just don't know if I really want to play it with my monsters doing all the farming right from the start. ._.
I was hoping some reviews would surface early and that I'd have been mistaken about the farming aspect, it was just so hard to believe they took out personal farming completely, but seeing as how you guys knew what was going on with it ages ago...
Ugh. ._.
You know, I actually forgot about that.
But I still want to give this game a try.
Yeah, I'm leaning towards just saying screw it and buying a copy too. Haven't quite convinced myself of it yet, but it seems that people are liking it, so ~
I'll probably end up convincing myself to go ahead and buy it a few days after it's released. :3
Nice, gonna hook this up on dolphin since I don't have a Wii.
Ima wait on the PS3 version/see if anyone can hack up a solution.
Still need to finish RF3 before I start this up anyway. D:
Been playing it, the farming being done by monsters is actually a godsend given how traversing the sea works. Honestly this is probably the best Rune Factory that they've put out so far, it actually feels more like an action RPG with Harvest Moon elements, as opposed to being Harvest Moon with some half baked action RPG attached onto it's tail. I've always personally felt that the Rune Factory series in general had an identity crisis going on between ARPG and sim, and as far as I'm concerned they've finally ironed out the kinks with this one. Running out of HP/RP on Ymir is kind of a pain since you're pretty much SOL if you're in the middle of the ocean, but other than that, great game so far.
There's still a lot of micromanaging to be done and you have to "plant" all the plants yourself, etc, etc. Don't be so quick to knock it over the heavy focus on farming being gutted, the game is actually pretty brilliantly done.
Also, no Runeys. I know they weren't in the DS ones, but god damn did Runeys make the Wii one awful.
Should I play the wii version? ; ;
How well integrated/important is the Move/motion support? And how well/useful does it work? I was curious about this, but couldn't really find anything related to it other than a mention at E3 this year saying that they were "working on integrating Move support".
I have no idea, I don't own a move. The couple people I've talked to that do say the game is actually pretty sharp control wise with it. You can play the game without it though.
So far, yeah. There's boatloads of recipes, I don't think I even have a fourth of them for any given craft and I'd say it easily numbers in the hundreds so far. Can customize Ymir to some degree too, but I haven't really messed around with that. Also you can see any gear you change up, like belts and etc, they're all added to character models, including ones that you give to NPCs.
I'm pretty damn sure I can hack up a ps3 solution with the JP version, but the english PS3 version doesn't seem to be up anywhere for yet.![]()
I went ahead and ordered a copy of this off Amazon last night, along with the Uncharted dual pack. They'll get here Thursday, but I've got a wedding Friday and I'm moving down to Tampa for a few months on Wed/Thurs/Sat, so I probably won't have a chance to start playing till the beginning of next week. Excited to though, once I have the time, thanks for the positive info Rokku! :3
