This is another thing that needs to be addressed, honestly, that will probably never be under the auspice of the government telling companies what they can and can't do being communism.

    Whatever, shit sucks.

If you think America's taxes are high, honestly, wait til the rest of the EU fags get in this thread. We get taxed nothing in comparison to pretty much the rest of the 1st world.

Lack of perspective makes me lol.

It's on the table right now, but it is definitely something to think about if it goes any further.

I agree we don't get taxed nearly as much as the rest, but it's one thing when this because of our countries fuck ups and instability that we are forced to pay the consequences.

    More taxes = less Freedom

Meanwhile, in lands with less freedom, women get two years maternity leave. THE HORROR

Or cut taxes and GET OUT OF THE WAY and let companies do what they want. This will increase tax revenue (as shown in the Bush years) because more employees equals more income tax.

So when you're creating a title like 'Obama's get rich quick scheme: Adopting a VAT Tax' off a vague quote from Charles Rangel, it's just you trolling? Lemme get this down in a memo for future reference.

Does having extremely low taxes combined with a failing education system (not efficiently) funded by taxes directly impact the level of stupidity imbued into the students who grow up to be adults who think paying taxes is a bad thing?

    IT'S SO CIRCULAR. SOMEBODY HALP.

Death and taxes, my friend. It's not an American thing. Like the article says, why do you think the Euros love shopping here so much? What if students didn't have to pay income tax, only VAT? You're broke anyway and don't buy much, you'd probably end up with more spending money. The less you consume the more cash you keep.

Some might, but since everything is hit by the tax I'm sure some companies would just take it in stride and adjust prices to compensate.

This is AMURICA Kuya, if we gave 2 years maternity leave we would only have woman in the workplace 6 months out of 3 years at a time.

Because we keep pumping millions of new bills out and the exchange rate would make any person using almost any currency other than dollars stupid not to shop here? The dollar bill is pathetic, and will continue to be pathetic. Also, you are right, it isn't America, it's "The Government at it's finest". America was a bad choice of word.

I read the article you linked, and the articles it linked, neither come close to saying "Obama's policies include adopting a value-added tax scheme"

To be sure, Rangel went on to acknowledge obliquely that many Democrats might not support such a tax. Nor has there been any hint from the Obama White House that the 44th president would go for a VAT.
This is from the article you linked. So again, just' trollan?

Did you guys know that (I don't remember if it was Finland or Norway) the government pays for your maternity leave no matter where you are? That is, if you're from (country i can't remember) and you're working in America, your government back home pays you the salary that your company in America would have been paying you so you can have your maternity leave for one year.

    Taxes are so bad
