We haven't been using the quick slant at all either (Driver's best route by far), and our 2nd half offense has largely been awful other than the nice TD drive to tie the Dolphins.

I'm pretty sure a quick slant to austin would be money every time. Not to mention every time we ran the ball, we didn't try 3 wide to open up the defense a bit, run play action etc etc. Sucks we have 3 very good WRs and a QB that can get them the ball but he just doesn't have enough time to do it.

Outstanding O-line is such a great thing to have, probably #2 in my mind behind a stud QB (or maybe #3 behind an outstanding D-line, not sure). Definitely one of the most "team" mentality units, really have to work together and know/trust eachother. I really don't understand how Shanahan was so able to just plug any mother fucker he liked into his system and have them look like beasts, shows the power of a well run o-line though. They should really start having some kind of stat to track for them, its the only position that has no stats. Pancake blocks or something...

Studies have shown (lol weasel words) that an injury to a starting running back has the least impact to the season record of a team than an injury to any other position. Running backs have been shown to be truly interchangeable.

And it's weird, because Ryan Grant just looks better running than Brandon Jackson, but Jackson's numbers stand up just fine. It's really weird.

The folks at KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh have uncovered an interesting angle regarding the hit that resulted in the imposition of a $75,000 fine against Steelers linebacker James Harrison.

The league currently is selling photos of the incident involving Harrison and Browns receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, at anywhere from $15.95 to $249.95.

Jeff Fisher: ESPN asked coaches to take timeouts late on Monday night
One of the biggest reasons why a weak Monday Night Football game can out-rate game three of the ALCS in New York: Fantasy football.

While Cliff Lee was dealing, fantasy owners across the country were hoping to squeeze a few more points out of Chris Johnson and Maurice Jones-Drew. Johnson's owners prayers were answered when Johnson broke free for a 35-yard touchdown on fourth down with under two minutes remaining.

That led to some (silly) questions about why Johnson was still in the game. Why were the Titans still trying to score?

Titans coach Jeff Fisher indicated that it was largely ESPN's fault. The network still needed more television timeouts and apparently asked both coaching staffs to take timeouts late.

"Jack [Del Rio] used his timeouts," Fisher said after the game via Terry McCormick of Titans Insider. "My understanding is they needed network timeouts, and that's why Jack used his timeouts. They came over and asked me to do it, but I said, 'I was hoping to get a first down and kneel on it.'"

Of course, you can also thank Del Rio for actually listening. Fisher was happy to end the game at 23-3, but Del Rio didn't let him.

"It's the first time I've heard of it," Fisher said about a network request for timeouts. "I just said I would have a hard time using them, because I'm ahead. Honestly, I have no issues with Jack or how he managed the end of that game. It's just what it was, and I don't think he would have an issue with me handing the ball off."

Ok, when a network is asking the coaches to use their timeouts(or really to do absolutely ANYTHING different from the norm), it's time to draw the line. That is fucking absurd.

This has been the best season for the Cowboys. Its funny hearing Cowboys fans complain that the Cowboys are too arrogant, when the fans are even more arrogant. It wasnt too long ago that the Cowboys won the Super Bowl in the preseason, and now they might not even win 4 games. LOL

Also, LOL @ Sam Hurd's UT sign fail.

On my way home yesterday, Jerry Jones was on 610AM doing an interview. He said his team is FUBAR, and pretty much that Romo sucks. I am looking for an audio clip of it because it was fucking hilarious.

Here's the weirdest thing -- this is an uncapped year, when everyone thought teams (read: Dallas & Washington) were going to go Yankees on everyone and run the table on the NFL. Somehow, there's more parity now than ever before, if the fact that there were no undefeated teams past Week 5 is any indication. My guess is that all of the owners are afraid to spend because of the lockout next year, but it's kinda cool to see this many teams actually in contention still.

Course, it sucks if you're in a money pick-em pool. :/

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee was arrested for public intoxication Wednesday after police said he took a pre-dawn swim in a city canal and told them "I am drunk" as he tried to explain why he was sopping wet.

Police arrested McAfee about 5 a.m. in the Broad Ripple neighborhood, known for its nightlife. Officers say the 23-year-old, second-year player from West Virginia had a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 percent, nearly twice the legal limit for driving in Indiana.

McAfee is the fourth Colts player to be arrested on alcohol-related charges this year. Team president Bill Polian said in a statement that the team was aware of the latest incident.

"We are in the process of gathering the relevant facts," Polian said. "When that task is complete, we will deal immediately with the issue of club discipline. Until we complete that process, we will have no further comment."

Before the arrest, McAfee posted this on Twitter: "Bye week bye week bye week. Time to get some ish done. Happy Tuesday Party people."

Police were called after a driver at a red light reported that a man with no shirt approached her car. The woman told police she feared the man was going to try to get in, so she ran the red light and called 911.

Officers asked McAfee if he had been swimming in the canal and he said "I am not sure," according to a police report. They asked him how he got wet and he said it had been raining, then told officers that his shirt was "in the water."

Police asked McAfee how much he had to drink.

"A lot cause I am drunk," McAfee said, according to the report.

McAfee told police that he was waiting for a friend to get him, but also that he planned to take a taxi home, the report said. He asked if he could walk home, but officers arrested him. They say he smelled of alcohol, his eyes were watery and bloodshot and his speech slurred.

Officers said they had to help McAfee stand up after giving him a breath alcohol test.

While Indy has a bye week, they were scheduled to have regular practices Wednesday and Thursday. Coach Jim Caldwell was expected to speak with reporters later Wednesday.

In January, Colts receiver Taj Smith was stopped by police on suspicion of drunken driving. Smith spent last season on the Colts' practice squad but was cut Sept. 4.

In August, backup defensive lineman John Gill was arrested for public intoxication after Indianapolis police found Gill passed out in a ditch. The charge was later dropped, but Polian said then that Gill would be placed in a roster category that would keep him inactive all season.

On Sept. 3, defensive tackle Fili Moala was arrested for driving while intoxicated, public intoxication and speeding.
