    PSP and Emulators

Hey guys, I'm running ZSNES on my PC and I'm wondering if there's a way to play them on my PSP. If there is, is there a legit place I can download such a mod that allows this?

For SNES emulation on PSP, I used to use snes9xTYL.

If your PSP isn't modded, and isn't fully up to date (firmware 6.20 or earlier), you can make use of the half-byte loader's exploit via Patapon2 demo (don't have a link handy) to load the emulator, but it's not 100% foolproof, and emulation speed isn't 100% as a fully modded PSP.

[EDIT] Actually, if your firmware is old enough the chickHEN exploit should work. If your PSP is an ancient 1000/early-2000 series pandora battery works.

Mine's only a few months old so its a new 3000 series with firmware 6.20. Am I totally wasting my time trying to install the snes9xTYL? It all really boils down to me being lazy, I really only wanna bring my SNES games with me while I'm taking a shit...but if it's a pain in the ass to mod it I just wont bother.

There's no modding involved given your model/firmware, all you can do so far is just a kernal-level exploit that allows some apps to run. With your firmware, it involves loading the Patapon2 demo, a specific modified save, then hitting R once that's loaded to trigger the half-byte loader for homebrew apps, and then selecting the snes emulator from there.

Bit of a bother though for on-the-go gaming, it's a 60 second process to get from the XMB to the loader.

Bah, I was hoping there was a quick "turn on PSP and play emulator" route. Thanks for info on this though...I might do that anyway since I'm taking a trip next month and flying will be so much better with Lufia II.

Bump for justice, because I have an issue in this vein. I have a pandora modded PSP-2000, firmware is 5.00 M33-3. I'm running SNES9Xtyl and it runs like shit on some games, others are fine but anything that uses mode7 generally looks like ass. No matter what I do to the settings I get no where. Any ideas?

Check to see if there is a newer version out for SNES9X?

Games that require a special chip (Super Mario RPG, Yoshi's Island, to name a few) will never work as well as other games.

For regular games, you can try updating your speedhacks file.

    Solution: Buy old PSP-1000

edit: I have a pandora's battery that I made a long time ago laying around if anyone needs it.
