PS2 on hdtv (tv lacks component input)

So recently i have been itching to play some new games on my ps2 (shadow of the colossus and p4) and i am absolutely stunned how bad it looks with standard composite cables. I have been looking for a cheap remedy to the solution. I am wondering if anyone else has a good method to fix this problem. So far the only hope for me seems to be using a component cable, then converting it to either hdmi or vga-component, which strangely is the only 2 inputs i can use on my worthless tv aside from composite. Although, i have not been able to find a cheap way yet and i am not even sure if this would even work, i am still determined to find a fix.

So anyone with any experience with this would be helpful, i completely regret not looking into the inputs on my tv to see if it had component or not now.

So far this seems to be my best bet, but a cheaper option would be best.

Thanks for the quick response, i think i may try that. Do you think it may still have trouble being displayed on a hdtv with that? I guess scaling issues is what im concerned with. Nevermind, theres no reason why it shouldn't work now that i think about it.

Also, i assume this would work to convert the audio on the component cable to stereo? because honestly my tv sounds horrid and my laptop has nicer speakers (which is pretty pathetic).

btw, this site seems amazing for cheap cables. Thanks for the suggestions!

Ok, everything seems like it would work after reading reviews and such, this thread has served its' purpose.

Just so you know, SD stuff looks shitty on HDTV's no matter what the input. Component will help it look slightly better, but it is not going to look better than when you played on a SDTV. Some high end TV's can sometimes make it look a little less worse, but don't expect to have it looking awesome. I first noticed it when I first got a PS3 (bc with PS2) and used to play PS2 games on it back when I still had a SDTV, games looked as good as I always remembered them. When I upgraded to a HDTV, the PS3 games looked amazing, but the PS2 games (even with PS2 upscaling and smoothing options enabled) looked like shit.

If you want your PS2 games looking as good as they can, play on a good quality SDTV, or if you want them looking amazing and have a good PC, download the PS2 emulator.

Yea, from what i heard it can never be as good as a sdtv but from what ive read it gets close. The problem with composite on a hdtv, is that its almost unplayable because of how blurry it is. I feel kind of stupid now, i just looked in the box my tv came in and it had a pamphlet specifically showing how to connect component into the tv, using the adapters that Rockstaru specifically pointed out. If only i had known sooner i wouldn't be giving myself a headache playing the ps2 with a composite connection.
