borderlands 2 did it too, pretty much every game is doing/going to start doing this now
You can only be a petty child for so long before you start to realize what a tool you are.
So ready for this. Need my hack and slash fix.
Edit: One announced for EU/NA next week, too.

Okay guys, time to make this official. The long-awaited playable demo for DmC Devil May Cry will be available for download on your Xbox 360 or PS3 as of 11/20 in North America, or 11/20 and 11/21 respectively in Europe. It'll contain two action-packed missions, one of which is a big ol' boss battle.
The demo will contain a few of the game's difficulty modes, including the remixed "Son of Sparda" mode, which becomes unlocked after one completion. You'll also have access to a variety of the game's weapon upgrades and maybe a couple secrets along the way
We're just a week out, guys. Look forward to it!
Also, in case you missed it, we've just announced an add-on chapter, Vergil's Downfall, where you'll be able to play as Dante's brother Vergil in all-new areas, against new enemies, with a rich and very cool new moveset. I've seen some confusion floating around out there, so to reiterate some key points:
-This is all-new content, not just a DMC3:SE-style character swap.
-The add-on is not "day one"; it will come out sometime after launch of the game.
-The add-on is FREE to anyone who pre-orders DmC from GameStop (U.S.A.) or EBGames (Canada).
-If you don't pre-order the game, the add-on will still be available at the same time, but for $8.99/720 MSP.
I'm also very happy to point out that this content is not on-disc.
1.30GB demo is out now
just wrapped up with it, very impressed with the gameplay on offer here, probably enough to overcome my reservations about the presentation and all.
Some quick thoughts while playing the demo:
Framerate is awful. Like, really bad.
Combat doesn't feel awful, but I'm not a fan of having to hold down buttons to swap weapons.
Not a fan of the visual style in the slightest. Everything being kinda reddish is really not pleasing to the eye, imo.
Everything is very, very easy regardless of difficulty.
Combat doesn't feel or look stylish. It feels wild and like Dante is more or less flailing about.
Controls feel a little strange. I think it's the double dodge buttons. I miss having a lock on.
My impressions: Have to get used to not having a lock-on, but the game handles auto-targeting well enough. The having to hold a button to switch weapon wasn't very troublesome, and having the ability to pull and drag yourself towards an enemy makes combo making a cinch. The levels changing during gameplay is jawsome.
I loved the shifting level. Combat took some getting used to with having to hold down shoulder buttons for changing weapons, but not bad.
I did find it hilarious they included the boss fight known for the worst dialogue exchange:
Spoiler: show
Wasn't horrible. I'll probably end up buying it on release.
They've announced the game will not run at 60 FPS, so that really does put me off the game already.
It will run 60FPS on the PC version though.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!
really have a bad feeling they are going to overuse the grappling mechanic. It's fine for combat, but If I'm going to have to travel through most the levels, constantly grappling from point to point, it's going to get annoying.
Tried it today. Not a big fan. The combat mechanics are... okay I guess. I much prefer the combat of 3/4 though. The framerate is probably one of the worst things about the game, as well as the sound skipping in surround when there's too much going on. Come on Ninja Theory, you've been developing for PS3 since it first came out. You can do better than this. Or maybe you can't? How is MGS Revengence a better looking game and runs at 60fps?
I'd get it eventually. Maybe when it's $20 used or something. I really wish they would have continued after 4. Despite all the haters, Nero was so beast. They took awful shortcuts in the game (ie; making you play all levels twice to save time!) but it was a solid title.
Tried it as well. Not the amazing combat I was hoping for to make up for all this other shit. Will probably pirate if it comes out on PC.
