Didn't watch that video, but at movies so ill watch it later
any game like this should have lock on luller. it drastically improves movement
I also agree completely that i would prefer lock on and not to have to hold buttons for style switch. I think it's superior, and can't be justified by simply saying "artistic interpretation". I wouldn't get my vagina in a twist over it though, but then again i'm not a fanboy about anything, so dmc becoming a different game entirely is of little concern to me as long as the final product is entertaining. Still, lock on and not holding style button would make the experience more entertaining, so meh.
It's not about fanboys no matter how much you want it to be. The problem is that the game plays absolutely nothing like DMC. The game wouldn't have had as much controversy or negativity surrounding it had it been a brand new IP, simply because that meant a proper DMC5 would have be on the way. Now we're just stuck with another generic NT game.
EDIT: The video posted does a great job explaining the game's faults.
This is precisely why this is only a fanboy concern. People who barely know of DMC or who had a passing interest in DMC most likely could not give any less of a shit about the changes NT has made. Only fans of the series really care about any of these things. And to someone like me, who likes dmc games but was never very much invested in them (you know, normal people), something like this: "it sucks because it doesn't look or play like dmc" is absolutely irrelevant. The problem is that the game plays absolutely nothing like DMC. The game wouldn't have had as much controversy or negativity surrounding it had it been a brand new IP
Is the game good? That's the only thing i care about.
Then NT has done their job, you're exactly the target audience they aimed for. Someone who'd buy a flat-out inferior product because the DMC label is slapped on it.
lol
edit: i didn't know your lack of reading comprehension extended past the MMA thread
Whatever lol.

I'm not gonna bother anymore. You've been trolling this thread for the longest and have added absolutely nothing.
is fundamental
Even if that's the case, it's good for Kuya but for people who have followed the DMC series and were expecting a DMC type game it's not what we wanted. Granted I don't know if they'll ever hit as high as DMC3 again(albeit I enjoyed 4 but Nero pissed many people off apparently) but was still interested in the direction they would have taken after 4, what period in time, etc. Instead there's a brand new game with DMC slapped on. And considering these are the type of people who will respond negatively to this game it's not surprising why there's an outrage concerning it.
That said I'm not too impressed with it so far. The changing level gimmick I actually think is nice as long as you never revisit any of these levels or the level shifting doesn't remain constant if you do, because the level sharing in DMC4 was fucking awful. You backtrack in every DMC game pretty much but 4 had you literally go from A to B as Nero, than B to A as Dante, fighting almost all the same bosses in a different order...the fuck.
I'll wait till it comes out to see what the final build looks like before I see if it's worth it. Just better hope that leaked ending isn't legit.
