Juogi something to look into at all for Amano sam for the extra DA and Crit? Still grinding towards Usu body, not sure if I wanna wait until december on either, tho. Just curious.

+1 you can either quest or easily duo/solo the NM's. Considering you have rdm. The feet will be annoying to get but not impossible. +2 you'll need to either make shout groups or a group of friends/ls. Depending on the NM you might be able to solo/duo it E.G. the Orobon in mis.
is Ketae possible to do with ~3-4 people? preferably all mage jobs forcing rapid molt, if not other job combos can be worked out as well.
I've done it with 4 people, PLD, RNG and 2x BLM (may have been BLM + RDM... was a while ago).
Easy to kite in the open square south of Bastion, just bounce around, whoever has hate kites. And PLD was rather pointless for the battles, btw, just what we had at the time. >_>
@CS:
So +11 str on hands, -5 vit on ring, -1 str/-1 vit for base stats. Overall +4 to WSC stats, which is +2D at most, and a max increase of ~16 damage. Essentially, inconsequential to the overall problem. Thanks for the clarification, though. The values you got on the Bastion mobs seem more in line with expectations.
@Guitarman:
Ebon Hoof: no stat mods
RR: +50 dex, so capped crit rate
+30 to all stats from cruor
Afflictors/grenade
shura kabuto/peacock amulet/brutal/merman's ear
shura togi/melee gloves/toreador's/rajas/potent belt
shura haidate/fumas(forgot wsboots)
[back missing; going to assume amemet +1 for an even +20 str in gear]
Str: 84 +20 in gear + 30 in cruor + 5 in food = 139
Vit: 80 +0 in gear + 30 in cruor = 110
WSC = 105
D = 41 + 10 + 22 + 105 = 178
No crits: 178 * 2.1 * 2.0 = 747.6
First hit crit: 178 * 1.1 * 3.0 * 1.3 + 178 * 1.0 * 2.0 = 1,119.62
Second hit crit: 178 * 1.1 * 2.0 + 178 * 1.0 * 3.0 * 1.3 = 1,085.8
Both crits: 178 * 2.1 * 3.0 * 1.3 = 1,457.82
2 crits + DA (non-crit): 1,813.82
2 crits + DA (crit): 2,152.02
Crit rate of 68% (+3% from weapon)
Avg damage (without DAs, but with capped attack and no level correction): 1230
Reported: 1200-1900 on Whiro (no damage bonus), 1400-2700 on skeleton (12.5% damage bonus)
A range of 1200-1900 is viable if you're getting some DAs in there.
A low of 1400 on the skeleton is also viable as an extension on the 1200 baseline on Whiro, though 2700 would seem to need 2 DAs and at least 3 hits to crit (in which case it should be considered far outside the ordinary range of damage)
Of course there's also the caveat that my numbers are assuming capped attack and no level correction in an attempt to even approach the reported values. Capping attack is somewhat possible with Boost and any amount of def down, but the lack of level correction seems unlikely. You can still hit on the high end of the pDif range and get a value approximating that of no level correction, but you should also be getting lows that are down in the 900 range, too.
What's spellcast command for setting rules specific to zone? Trying to make different rule sets for when in Abyssea! Thanks
thanks as always Rog
Thanks for the math. The 2700 i'm positive about, it was the first AF i used after getting the atma. It was 2773 dmg iirc. I only remember because the rdm i was tanking the nm for was suprised at the damge. You may be right, I'm sure i may have gotten 890 dmg numbers in there, honestly I was more focused on keeping shadows up and whatnot to record every WS I did; but the low-end numbers i posted were the most frequent. Really can't explain the 2700 though; wish I had noted TP return. Seems a 1/million shot of getting 2 DAs.Crit rate of 68% (+3% from weapon)

hey 2 friends and me are thinking about comeing back to ffxi, 2 people have already played and a few 75s the 3rd person is total new but this doesnt matter atm i wanted to ask which jobs would be the best at to lowman many things now in ffxi? with each of the 3 person max2jobs @85 or w/e the highes is atm we think 1 melee "team" and 1 mage "team" maybe something like sam+sam+dnc? and blm+blm+rdm? idk which jobs would be good for lowman and remember only 2 jobs per person, okay i hope you understand what i want because im from germany and my english is very bad >_>
3x rdm is best for lowman.
2 rdm and 1 blm is pretty good too. Sam sucks, war or gtfo.
war and sam have always been competitive, but recent changes shift things into war's favor. RR atma makes raging rush insane, whereas sam has no decent crit WS. Fell Cleave is insane for larger scale exp when done right.
Fell cleave can do upwards of 30k damage. Raging rush easily does 2.5-3k, retaliation, etc. A number of factors make war better really. Of course a good war has always been better than sam, and this isn't really anything new, but with atma, cleave, etc, war has just gotten even better.
i see cool lol so for us would be best rdm+rdm+blm and war+war+xx? for trioing?
Can someone give me a quick run-down on what a summoner does in a smn burn pt. I can use my friends mule (12 smn) to maybe get an invite, and try to smn burn nin up from 30.
I however, have never played smn in a smn burn and I'm not sure what to do. Don't wanna screw it up. Quick protips like when do I summon, when do I two hour, where do I summon, what avatar do I use....thanks!
This is more just a PSA than anything else, but with Cruor buffs and all the Furtherances, monsters have a floored critical hit rate on me in Abyssea (+40 AGI or whatever) 4 levels of Enemy Critical hit rate -% merits pushes it down below 2%. Warrior's Stone makes me immune to critical hits (Enemy critical hit rate -2%). Just something to note for PDT sets.
