When looking for a pinning spot, what exactly should I be looking for? I hear the word tossed around a lot, and I have been able to solo with walls and such, but what about actual pins?

Often times pin spots are obstructions in the environment that make the monster completely change paths the moment you cross a line. Most of the time, you'll find these to be areas with "stuff" in the environment. This might mean a simple bed of flowers (Highlands), a fence (Multiple places), or just trees (Xarca). You should test out these pin spots to see what I mean. You should begin to see common features of pin spots (EX: When the pin spot is a fence, you usually trigger the "line" by running next to the fence or away from the fence).
Simple enough, probably a stupid question but I am assuming NM's and regular mobs take the same walking pattern? (Reason being so I can actually test before popping something)
There's no distinction between NMs and Regular mobs to the extent that there is no external difference between the two aside from the fact that one is an NM. Certain features such as the size and TP attacks of the mob will play a role in the effectiveness of a pin. For example, you might find a perfect pin spot for something like a bat or a rabbit, but larger mobs may be able to hit through the pin spot. Another example is if the NM has a special TP move, you might be inclined to think the pin spot does not work when in reality, it simply does not work certain monsters.
Ok this is a pretty dumb question but just to make sure.... PUP cannot solo Shoggoth right? Which job can I duo it at least with?
So I'm at an impasse with trying to raise my fame in Attohwa. It seems that the only 2 repeatable quests I can do are the Mortello recharge quest for which the Mortellos are never low enough TO recharge, or the one where you turn in 3 Amoeban Pseudopods (~50k each). So my question is: Does anyone have a rough idea of how many of these pods I'm gonna have to turn in? I'm trying to figure out how much money I'm gonna have to blow on this shit as the drop rate on them is terrible and they're annoying to solo/duo on BLU.
I only need level 2 Fame to get the BLU Head seal quest, and I already have 2 quests done for the zone.
I think I traded 12 (4 completes) to get rank 2 fame. Sorry can't be more presise.
Thats from 0 fame to rank 2 fame so less for you.
Is Rajas still best in slot for non x-hit job TP sets in Abyssea? Figuring it's probably not in uncapped acc situations (such as they are, lol), but in capped accuracy situations it's what, 3-6 attack versus 5 STP? Depending on what you're using in the other slot (acc ring vs Excelsis). Assuming VV atma, that STP isn't necessarily a huge deal. Subtle Blow still has advantages so it's obviously situationally useful but wanted to see if anybody had looked at this.
Asked this in the Attowa thread which should be directed here really... Targetting AF feet drops from gold chests, what is the best number of amber lights people have been experiencing regarding drop rate for feet?
Got BLU and SMN feet last time I tried with 18 amber lights (2 coming from Eph Amoeban). Iirc AF feet are more common in the small gold ones but I got SMN feet in a big box which was the only thing in it.
Yes, and hoard ring is generally the best second ring if no blitz option. (assuming capped Ddex/Fstr)
Does Ketae proc yellow when spells casted on it cure it?
So I finally got Atma of the Impregnable Tower, description says HP: Superior, tried it on... and gives me the same HP boost as Ebon Hoof (Which is HP: Major), am I missing something? I tried Sanguine Scythe too, and all 3 gave me the same HP boost, from 1880sh to 2260sh on RNG, But IT and SS Atmas have "Superior" and EH is only "Major". Are they incorrectly labeled? or I'm just going crazy
You are going crazy, what have you been cracking?
ok, they are just mislabeled caz SE is lazy and never double check.
I was wondering, not counting items sold to guild shops, are the Tenshodo/Norg NPC merchants the ones that offer the highest resale value on random items sold to them in the game when fame is maxed or is there some other NPC merchant in the game that offers even more gil for your random items?
Sleepga isn't dangerous, though you may want to keep poison/sublimation on during cs, since it tends to spam sleepga repeatedly (5 sleepgas is a row is normal), so you might be sleeping for a while. It's a little annoying, because you can't just run during cs, or else it'll depop, but as long as you're careful during cs (a good mdt set helps obviously, but it's not even required), it's pretty easy.
I'm considering making a yhel jacket for my sch. is it worth the effort?
I'm considering coming back for the 1st and I was wondering how BLM is these days. I have it in the 60s.
Would I still have to solo/manaburn to 75 and beyond? Do they get invites for Abyssea exp?
