    A few opinions...

    - Abyssea buffs has spoiled players. I think these need to be the precedent going forward.

    - Plenty of "unreleased" zones that have been mentioned in game and in SE publications.

    - Let us visit the ruins of Tavnazia dammit. There are paths leading there and everything in place... (Sacrarium), Lufaise near Rams/Abraxas, Lufaise near treants...

    - Altepa, Zi'Tah, Grauberg, Fort_K and Lufaise would make good Abyssea zones.

    - Usukane on the verge of being completely replaced pissed me off a LOT initially, but I'm okay with it as long as SE sticks with the TotM idea (upgrading current gear instead of rendering it useless every 3 months).

    - While I'm on a roll with speculative crap, I'm curious... would people here be excited or pissed if FFXI pulled major stuff from previous games - like the mega boss of Abyssea being a pallette swapped Iratham type named "Kefka"... or like Jenova from FFVII?
    New content will entirely depend on how FFXIV does, and how FFXI continues to mature in terms of the player base. It seems like FFXIV has been a tremendous failure. That might be purely anecdotal, but everyone in my shell has quit and come back to FFXI; it took about 3 days. I vaguely remember FFXI subscription fees being a significant part of square's annual return... if that's true, and people stick with FFXI, I'm sure we'll get a real CD-quality expansion. Square might make bizarre decisions related to FFXI, but they aren't stupid.

    I'd personally like content to be added outside of abyssea, or removal of the stone system (lolelol). Not like it's hard to get time obv, but damn is it a bummer.

    Will be interesting to see what happens in December, when XI gets it's next update and free trials start expiring for FF14; and then again in March with the XI update and PS3 release. Frankly though, my main XI-14 worry is that 14 fails so hard it undermines whatever support can be given to XI financially as SE try and stop themselves going under.

    I imagine that 14 like 11 will suck for the next three years (if it makes it that long). This is assuming SE learned nothing from 11 (likely) and will just hurr and durr until they find out how to get people to play their game, just like the orig 11

    While I can't see Atmas being applicable to old content if you beat all the Abysseas, I'd still like them to be a factor in later content. I really have taken it as a wonderful thing everyone can get from a fight while also adding incentives to complete the various mission lines. I am still a bit sour over the Traverser Stone mechanic, but we should be expecting 8 hour cooldowns next patch, maybe even 4 if SE's nice. Also anticipating at least a third Atma and new Atmas on top of that. Just kind of hoping we get unique zones instead of reskins. Also thinking it'll only be 2 zones instead of 3, falling in line with AF pieces having a "zone" so to speak with hands in one and bodies another.

    But then you lose the sandy/windy/bastok trio crap they so love. They could do bodies, hands, +2 items. But they'll probably just keep it separated by jobs like it is now and make them obtainable some other way.

    The kind of manpower SE would probably charge 19.95 for @ your local gaming store =o

    I know this 2 questions may raise an uproar but I'm going to give it a try anyway since this seems to be the forum with the most experience in FFXI:

    1)Since I'm a "pretty newish" player(been playing for long but had long hiatuses,surely you noticed by my other question in the thread, which by the way helped a lot even tough I'm stuck at the moment), I wanted to ask if anyone could give me some pointers about gil making.I'm taking up craftings since I always ignored those, trying to do some NM's farming/bcnms but don't have a lot of manpower and people are really into an abyssea craze.I know this will get me flamed really much but I can't seem to be able to solo farm with mnk(gimped) that much of an income.For crafts I'm something like 6 leathercraft 9 alchemy, something WW, and that's it.I usually do for farming something like: go to a zone, slaughter something that drops for 10 hrs a day, keep being poor.Read the resources available here,zam forums, blogs, whatever, seems pretty much everything outdated, and I really don't want to give up on things.

    2)After the outrage on the first question the second one should be even worse: should I keep trying soloing with jobs/partying with the 3-4 people in seek? I mean, I don't like the whole abyssea leech idea, but fields of valor soloing 5-to-8 jobs seems a bit too much to ask.I did solo for basically...well forever, so I'm considering being hardly gimped leeching and then learning hard to play.I know I should learn the proper way, but there's a serious lacking in party action at any lvl and everyone I've heard is encouraging me to leech while I'm quite dubious about it.Would not be my first job tough.

    gogo flame now! Atleast I started doing rdm as other posts said, lvl 31 for now, hit a huge slump on invites/solo <.<

    clarification: I already got something like 2-3 milions cruor from my main job, anyway thanks for the answers already! less flame than expected.

    2) Leech Abyssea, FFXI isn't hard you don't need to level the job in a PT to know how to play it.

    the best part about the atma system is the flexibility it offers. One time, you can go in with dd atmas and wreck house. Mage job? change those up to boost your spellcasting. tanking? hp/whatever. That's the true fun of it.

    Of course it's easier, that's the entire point. It has nothing to do with file sizes, or technical limitations, or anything like that.

    Im waiting for Abyssea-Uleguerand for Heroes as it isn't FFXI without an ice-themed zone.

    I really hope beyond Abyssea that atma still comes into play for whatever content lies beyond.
