Best advice I can give (though not the best anyone here could give I'm sure), is you have to spend money to make money. If you already have MNK at 75+, work with that. Use what gil you make from basic farming to improve your gear. I'm sure plenty of people here will be able to help you ascertain what you could realistically work on buying if you asked sincerely. Most of the rage at people asking for money/gear tips here comes from people wanting instant gratification and refusing to put any sort of effort into improving themselves.
With a well geared MNK, you'll be better able to handle yourself in solo/duo/lowman situations. MNK is a very powerful job in the current state of the game and a trio of Mnk, Rdm, Brd can kill most NMs out there right now. As your gear improves, you'll be able to take down stronger targets, and will become more appealing to Linkshells that deal with endgame. While everyone has their own preferences as far as joining linkshells and working in large groups go, there's no denying that joining a linkshell will almost always give you more personal contacts to draw from. Meet people with jobs that complement your own and team up with them to take on stronger targets, that's where the real money is. It definitely takes a decent amount of effort to reach that point, but you'll find yourself in a much better position because of it.
Pretty sure this is gunna be a no, but if I'm doing a trial requiring x reps of a WS, do AoE WS's count multiple times if they hit multiple mobs or just for 1 usage of it?
It's a no.
Bother. How about this:
Also probably a no, but say I did 2 WS DMG+10% single-hand weapons and dual wield them? Does the game only register those sTP/10% weapons on main hand or will they stack to 20%? Or will neither (sTP OR 10%) work offhanded?
STP will work offhand, WS DMG will not even if you stack them.
Got it, alright, thanks. Last one, is there any info either way about grabbing the sTP axe? Not sure if its worth using. I'm not trying to make anything ground breaking for war dual wield, just some things to keep up with the level cap rises.
Have there been comparisons of Completed Empyrean Weapons WSs vs the WoE versions WS ? other than the ODD and stat+ i'm wondering if the WS are significantly stronger on the empy version.
The weaponskills will be the same. There's still the other factors you mentioned that makes Empyreans quite a bit better though.
How does DW war compare with Gaxe war now with razed ruins and such? Also, how much will the difference between Gaxe and DW be with DW3? I'm thinking 2x PDT axes would be great for DD tanking as well, probably 11%? per weapon next update.
Which is the opposite of what I remember Bryn posting a few weeks ago, where he napkin-mathed axe/axe overtaking GAs as of next update.
Which scars zone T2/3 VNMs are easiest to tackle? I'm DRG only before I'm told to duo with rdms.
Admittedly, part of me's curious to see what a WAR/NIN with two DA% Axes and appropriate gear would fare in comparison. 10% from trait, 5% merits, 10%(?) from VV, 9% from Axe1, 7% from Axe2, 4% Mask+2, 5% Cuisses+2, 5% Brutal. That's 55%, with possibly more from other things like Askar body or Aesir Mantle. Would DA cap at 50%?
/nin isn't forced to cast utsu, lower pdif increases value of crit drastically.. lower acc increases value of dex drastically, etc
GA war isn't bad, but if it's not behind axe/ridill yet it will be soon(I'm pretty sure it has now though.. especially considering WAR can cap haste while rocking Nusku's Sash). Granted, irrelevant, since MNK and NIN trash both options.
WAR had been sitting at 70 for a couple of years now, and I decided to take it up to 85 on something of a whim. My gear is pretty much SAM left-overs, such as Byakko's Haidate, Haub+1, Dusk Gloves, etc etc.
1. What's some non-Abyssea, indispensable WAR gear that I should be picking up?
2. I've seen people remark that going for the Store TP Great Axe would prevent one from getting the WS DMG+10%, which apparently is nice for Cleave parties. Is the WS DMG+10% more suitable for Cleave burns than, say, the STR/ATT path or Maschu +1?
Thanks.
