Was using that last night (hence how I knew it was Fly and Orcus giving me false readings), but was just mainly looking for general areas to start since Jugner is kind of annoying zone to move around in, especially in the past. Main plan is just get a few shellmates, cycle through all 4, then come back to the first as it repops, etc. to get my 6 kills

Jug(S) Capricornus likes to pop right past the point of no return area walking towards Bat (S) or in the SE part of the map from general experience spawning VNMs.

I picked up a Cobra Unit Claymore to do so on warrior. Merc Sword is 1mil on Phoenix, Claymore is 15k (or a handful of AN if you're a former campaign junkie like me).

Yeah, this is the plan. It seems like your increasing the amount of time that your locked into what could be a shit roll, or a use-less to the situation roll when using winning streak.

I need some merit advice for jobs I never use, since I should put extra points somewhere instead of wasting them.

SCH T2: I have 5/5 stormsurge and 1 enlightenment--where should I put the other 4 levels?
BST T2: 5/5 Beast Affinity, what else should I add, or does it even matter since they all look to suck?
PLD T2: I have 5 fealty and 1 chivalry. In a previous random question thread (pre-Scars), Rog said 5 chivalry, but with the extra refresh available from atma, refresh2, ballad3, and gear to boost those spells, chivalry doesn't seem quite as appealing. Should I still cap that, or put some into Iron Will or Guardian?

Winning Streak is for lazy COR play. Really, Capping Snake/Fold help to put you on better rolls (fuck you IX evokers or VIII chaos) and allow for more gambling when you inevitably land on VI after a VI.

Besides, unique snowflakes cap Loaded Deck.

I recently reinstalled ffxi on a second PC. After it finished installin and updating I went to play and noticed none of the 5 mini expansions installed. Is there something I have to do to get them to DL? I thought it wa auto of you had bought the codes...

Is reinstallation my best bet?

Everything works, can go to any non-abyssea zone on that PC. Its just mini-expansions, and I have no clue how to make FFXI know to DL them.

It's such a minimal increase in how lazy you can be...6minutes instead of 5 minutes? It's not like its doubling the duration or anything (in which case I'd seriously consider it). And as he said, it also locks you into bad rolls more...it really is hardly even a benefit.



My own question -
Does anyone see a serious issue with doing PDT h2h trials as opposed to others (I'm only doing 1)? The way I see it, I only use mnk in abyssea, and even then only use it as a means to proc blue !!, since monk covers every WS that can proc blue except Hexa Strike, so it's pretty much exclusively going to be used to tank mobs for that, and I'd only be using the h2h after going through all the staff/club WSes. Furthermore, since it is only in Abyssea, I really should be fSTR capped all the time, and AF has the exact same STR and VIT mod (I could look at my gear and figure out for sure if they are the exact same WSC, but I don't think I care that much). So the only thing the Fire path gives is attack (pure attack + some from STR), which may be capped anyway, depending on buffs. Seems like a nice direction to go, in my mind.

Winning streak doesnt really lock you into bad rolls more, your recast timer didnt change...

There's nothing to download, all the mini expansion data was included in the updates. All that needs to be done is activate them, which should happen when you buy them and after that it should tie those to your account permanently.

However, when i finished letting 11 update, none of the 5 minis downloaded on that PC. They are not liught up on the opening screen either. All work perfectly on my laptop on the same account.

Enlightenment or Focalization. If you invest in the latter, you're banking on it working for future events since magic acc is pretty damn high in most situations.

I always had to either shutdown the game, or at the very least back out to pol viewer after buying a mini expansion, beore it would "light up" on my title screen.
I'm sure you have tried a reboot or relaunch of the game by now tho.

You could always copy the entire FFXI folder from the working pc as well...

I lost the CD's for FFXI but currently have it on my computer, albeit not updated anymore (fresh install). I didn't buy any of the add ons (ASA, MKD, ACP) and steam has the ultimate collection for $10. Instead of paying $30 for all 3, can I just buy that? Also, would I get a free months from buying from steam? Or is that only for new accounts?

Ya you can just buy that package. And I believe the free month only applies to new content IDs/accounts.
