If you walk into my church, for example, it's a building full of sinners. We are all sinners! The difference is actually trying to better yourself. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't believe that let's say a member of my church was gay, and every single Sunday he would ask for forgiveness for the sex he had Saturday night. But I do feel there is hope for him and forgiveness for him if he makes a dedicated effort to change his life style. Gay, speeding, whatever, its all the same, and it's all about making yourself better.

I found this hilarious. How exactly does a gay person change his lifestyle? If a person is gay, they're gay. They aren't anymore predisposed to the opposite gender as you would be to the same gender. This is the part about religion that bothers me, they feel that anything that doesn't support their views is immoral. For the record, I'm not gay, but rather a straight atheist.

The big issues here aren't gay love or health care, it's the steady erosion of our personal liberties at the hands of a government that is decreasing for, by and of the People and increasingly out of touch and bought off by corporatism. My personal views are pretty far left and libertarian and I'm frankly tired of being talked down to by the establishment, reading about and watching college students and grandmothers get tazed for things that wouldn't have ruffled a feather in the 70's and 80's and reading about active duty military personnel arresting US citizens on US soil under the guise of "private security".

Partisan politics are all a side show, much like the TSA. An elaborate pageant designed to divert the publics attention from the actual issues facing our nation at large. I find it interesting how the far right decries "Socialism" in America while ignoring the fact that the majority of our allies are either socialist or communist or that we support a number of communist or socialist regimes throughout central america and europe. The far left on the other hand, while progressive, would be unrestrained were it not for the right. An unrestrained left would in all likelihood lead to a nation comprised of immigrant welfare recipients supported by the top 20% of earners, and everyone would be unarmed and ill equipped in the event that the government finally stepped over the bounds and revoked our rights as citizens.

But by all means, continue bickering about legislating morality and socialized medicine. Nothing more to see here, plebe.
