Probably, sorry, this is just where I spend most of my time, feel free to move it to tech tho admins.

I do Security Engineering/Auditing for the Army. Basically, we travel around the world, and in the states, to Army installations helping them become and maintain compliance in all aspects of security best business practices. Physical, application, network, personnel security, you name it.

It's a pretty sweet gig. Not many 25 y/o's with a CISSP doing the kind of work I do, so I get to see a lot of cool shit.

Haha! Thanks Miz! Yeah I'm gonna drink an entire bottle of Jager and put that shit on youtube.

For anyone that doesn't know what the CISSP is, it's like getting a relic weapon stage 5. It's expensive as fuck, takes a lot of time, but in the end, it was worth it

Just wanted to point out that your first action as a newly minted security professional was to put your full name on the internets.

Good luck, he's behind 7 proxies. I have yet to take that test but our security admins have to and they all shat bricks and told me to tell you congrats on passing, they proceeded to tell me for 15 mins about their nightmares, failing it multiple times and how hard that shit is.

Fuck that, if I just dinged 75 Security I'd provoke yall bitch niggas too. Id probably drop my SS as well.

    LOL Miz ftmfw!

In response Olo, if you think I'm the only person with my name on the internet, you might wanna check your own house. Facebook, Myspace, Hotmail, they have all our names, interests, browsing habits, purchasing history, you name it.

It's all a part of your risk analysis, annual rate of occurrence, and preventative measures put in place to protect yourself. You can do a google search on my name right now, you'll see my facebook page and my LinkedIn page. They've been there for a long time. Has anything happened? Not yet, could it? Of course. Will my hotmail possibly get spammed with dumb shit? It already does, which is why I don't use that hotmail account for work or to talk with friends.

The question is, what can you do with that information? I'm not challenging you, rather I know what's feasibly possible when it comes to a compromise, and the likelihood of it actual happening are remote.

    @Askari0: Thanks :D

Oh Miz, if you plan on taking it, some pointers bruh:

Stay the fuck away from that Shawn Harris book. Try to get your hands on the ISC2 book. If you got nothin', use Shawn Harris, but she goes off on a bunch of shit you don't need to know.

The single most important thing about that test is reading the question and REALLY understanding what they are asking for. I'll give you an example:

"An organization wants to implement a biometric tool to protect a secure area of they're new facility. The organization has stressed that it cannot have any unauthorized access into the secure area. Which biometric tool would be best to institute?"

A.) A tool with mostly Type I errors.
B.) A tool with mostly Type II errors.
c.) A tool with an equal amount of Type I and Type II errors.
D.) A tool with no Type I or Type II errors.

Well, first you have to know what Type I and Type II errors are. They are False Rejection Rate (FRR, Type I) and False Acceptance Rate (FAR, Type II). Biometric tools are measures for accuracy where these 2 types of errors meet, if you were to graph them. Too laxed, and you'll have a heavier amount of Type II errors, allowing unauthorized access. Too tight, and you'll be rejecting people who are authorized.

The problem says, the organization can't have ANY unauthorized access. That's the key. In this particular example, you'd want to go with the tool that has mostly Type I errors, False Rejection Rates. You'd rather deny authorized people on accident, then let an unauthorized person have access to a sensitive area or sensitive information.

Most of the questions are like this, where they use words like "BEST" "ANY", stuff like that. If you're looking at answers, and none of them, (or all of them) look right, reread the question and find out EXACTLY what they're looking for. If you got any questions man, hit me up, I'm more than happy to spread the wealth.

    Thanks again everyone

Why I don't use Facespace or put my name on anything public on the internet. I generally don't even put photos of myself online (and even then try and keep them where Miz won't find 'em), and I'm pretty mum about the exact city I live in.

Anyways, congrats on your relic cert.
Now go get your mythic and empyrean.

Cantih, I'm not saying don't be cautious on the internet, but just that, by putting your name out there, you're not automatically 'haxx0red' by Kaptain Krunch.

Thanks though, and I suppose the mythic would be CISA, and Empyrean.... lol I don't even know bro lol.... Good analogy though

Well, we need another update (or three) to see their final forms, but the unsubstantiated scuttlebutt I've heard is that Twashtar/Rudra's Storm is BETTER than Mandau/Mercy Stroke.

Damn... I don't know if you ever knew Mythe from my old Seraph server, but his sig had him busting a 4420 Mercy Stroke on JoL. Any word on the multipliers? I haven't kept up in months, stopped just after the 2nd mini expansion of the dark world stuff.

14's fun for crafting, battle system is pretty lacking compared to XI's.
