"Hi everyone! My name's Mumor!
How are you all? I've been feeling just fantastic, thank you! My live performance at this year's Sunbreeze Festival is about to begin, you see. All the fans have already begun lining up and—huh? Where in the world did everyone go...?

What's with the commotion over there? A crowd of people seems to have gathered.
But...something doesn't smell right here..."

This summer, a fearsome new menace has come to wreak havoc on festivals and smiles of happiness—the very things our winsome superheroine, Fantastic Fraulein Mumor, has sworn to protect. Only with your spirited show of support can Mumor hope to prevail in her latest battle against evil!
All together now: "Shining Summer Samba!!!"

Proceed here to learn how you can help Fantastic Fraulein Mumor purge Vana'diel of this latest threat casting its shadow over the realm!

*The Sunbreeze Festival will commence on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 1:00 a.m. (PDT) and run until Monday, August 17 at 1:00 a.m. (PDT).

Prologue:

A long, long time ago, a lone meteor came hurtling through the heavens, finally coming to rest in a long forgotten corner of Vana’diel. From the core of this extraterrestrial rock emerged a being of pure evil: the self-proclaimed demon king, Ullegore. With unrelenting singleness of mind, Ullegore set forth to instigate his diabolical plot to sow the seeds of boredom the world over, finding festivals—the predominant source of fun and excitement in the realm of mortals—as the preferred targets for his insatiable thirst for tedium.

However, the arrival of this entity of darkness did not escape the notice of Professor Sarmoega, genius inventor and head of the Research Institute for Paranormal Phenomenon (RIPP). Realizing the dire implication of Ullegore’s appearance, the professor made it his life’s mission to prepare his only daughter, Mumor, to become she who would restore smiles and laughter to the world in its hour of need. As years of intensive training went by, this unlikely savior of Vana’diel matured to be known and loved by her fans as “Fantastic Fraulein Mumor,” the superpower-imbued defender of all that is good and fun.

Last year’s Sunbreeze Festival saw the two nemeses, Mumor and Ullegore, finally come face to face in an epic battle that will forever have a place in Vana’diel’s history books.

Despite having conceded the upper hand to her demonic adversary early in the encounter, with sheer tenacity and the power of her fan-fueled super-ability, the Dancing Force, in full swing, Mumor succeeded in banishing the demon king back to his rancorous realm...or so it was thought.

This summer, a fearsome new menace—the mysterious Mithra, Uka—has arrived to threaten the very existence of the Sunbreeze Festival. With the stakes so high, will Fantastic Fraulein Mumor be able to again stay the hand of evil and keep all the things she has sworn to protect safe from harm?

You, too, have a decisive role to play in this battle of fun versus boredom!
All together now: “Shining Summer Samba!!!”

Oh fucking hell just when I thought we got rid of the loli forever.

I'm not sure what you think the definition of lolita is but I don't really see it. Maybe if Prishe was joining the dance this time round.

When I saw the ad for Salaheem's I was so hoping that they're hinting at doing more with it but I doubt that. :(

The jester hat isn't in the .DAT's as far as stats/name, however it is in the .DAT's as a model for all races. So it's safe to assume that it will probably be a reward of some sort.

If only there was a way for us to voice our opinions about these events and what events we want to see. Maybe a podcast of some type with the Community Relations team where we could send our thoughts about events...oh wait...there was one and hardly anyone cared lol.

Considering we have things like like Bream Sushi +1 description, or the mannequin quest title, I'm less apt to agree. However, being that I'm an avid Sailor Moon fan, I was hoping beyond hope to see this event again.

We need some Mumor cosplay at the next fanfest.

Sorry if it's been awhile but what event was Azimuth Circle again?

From the 2005 event description:

Master, master!

How are you holding up in this horrible heat?

You’ve made the Sunbreeze Festival a smashing success, kupo!

And now it’s time for the main event--“Azimuth Circle”!

Azimuth Circle has rather complex rules, so I’ll have to drill you beforehand, kupo. First off, the game can only be played in pairs--everyone must be in a party of two. So you must begin by searching for a partner. Coupling with a good friend would be ideal, of course. But even if you aren’t exactly the most popular master...no problem! Just ask around, kupo!

And then, um, ummm...oh yeah! After that, just talk to a moogle with your partner and say you want to start the game, kupo! Then the moogle will tell you where your partner should go. It will also tell your partner where you should go! So you and your partner have to relay information between each other to figure out where to head next, kupo. Each of you should reach your checkpoint with good teamwork!

Examine your checkpoint to find a hidden compass. The compass will point in the direction that your partner should go, so both of you should use this information to help each other out. Work together to find all of your checkpoints and each of you will find a doll at the end of the trail, kupo!

Last but not least, trade your doll with your partner and then trade the doll that he found to the moogle, kupo. End game--the moogle will give you beautiful swimwear to beat the heat as a reward for your efforts! Nothing like going for a dip in the ocean in this scorching weather, kupo!

Ah... I almost forgot! I have a message here from Azima of the Alchemists’ Guild! Here’s what the inventor of Azimuth Circle had to say, kupo:

“The name ‘Azimuth Circle’ comes from this gadget we set on a compass in the old days so we could verify directions proper. I’m not vain enough to name a game after myself! Anyway, I hope you and your partner become good friends while playing. Maybe you can even invite them to join you again later wearing the rewards you gained from playing. I wonder what games you could play with them then…haw haw…<cough>…<wheeze>…!”

Ahem...yes, Ms. Azima is certainly a unique old... Anyway! Where was I, kupo? Oh yeah, Azimuth Circle. Please join us in the festivities, kupo! Master, master, get up and get out there! It’s time to find a partner for Azimuth Circle!

I'm also wondering if you can get the HQ clamming gear; apparently, it was available for sale from the moogle during last year's event, and I missed it. This year, the moogle is only selling the NQ gear. :/ Can anyone shed any light on acquiring past events' gear?

The super heroine stage show was how, competing in hard mode after acquiring the NQ suit first. But since the stage show is now number 2, I don't know if the same swimsuit is going to be offered. Pay attention to the event guides as people unlock various event items and you will eventually see a list of the new swimsuit.

Figured it out. You get the NQ and HQ yukata for this year by completing the Mumor stage show twice (two sets of 15 repetitions). Once you do that, you can wear the HQ yukata to activate this year's minigame hard modes. When you finish the minigames on hard mode for each nation, you take the balloons to the event moogle to receive last year's HQ swimwear. Wearing the HQ yukata allows you to teleport at the moogle near the minigame NPCs.

So far, no jester hat, but during the event, it's mentioned that the "super villain" or whatever has a stronger "diva" up his sleeve to take care of Mumor, etc. Maybe it will be revealed later.

I found out that you can get the NQ swimwear as well as the HQ clamming gear from the two moogles in Upper Jeuno. The HQ swimwear (blue, tele's you to purg. isle) you have to go through the event to get it. I think a guide is up on wiki. Here it is (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Sunbreeze_Festival_2009/Guide).

That's what SE meant when they said they have a year of content planned.

dunno bout jester hat, but the new HQ yukata appears to add the ability to catch multiple goldifsh per catch, or at least boost it.

Using my 4 year old lords yukata I'm not getting any multiple catches, so back to mumor I go~

You can make the bug cages by buying a new 100 point mystery box from goldfishing, you get a different one of the 3 bugs from each nation so you gotta do some running around if you want the complete set.

This, and the buttefly, glowfly and cricket cages ><

Not true on the cages though, I have the bufferfly cage sitting Sepihroth's mh, you get the items IE butterflies, glowflies and crickets from each of the nations from the goldfish scopping at 100 points. Bufferfly is Sandy, Cricket is Bastok I think and Glowfly should be Windy. After that just a crafter to make it.

It seems like it increases the chance for getting 3 tiny goldfish, and eliminates the chance of getting anything bigger than a black bubble-eye.

So basically, it makes the old yukata look awesome for goldfish scooping.

I can't verify whether it alters the 'big fish' catch rate, I can just tell you for a fact that it does not eliminate it.

I waited about 2.5 seconds after seeing the 'hurry' message. Most of the time you would lose catch or break a scoop, but occasionally you get lucky. I caught 7 big fish (5 comet, 1 pearl, 1 lion) in 5 stacks of scoops with the new HQ yukatas using that timing.

some guy was getting the large fish near me every time and wouldn't tell me how he did it :\ he just said "Just buy my fish." Rather fish my own, kinda ruins the whole point of the event buying someone else's fish

Seraph
08-06-2009, 05:36 PM
With the rate you can pull up the smaller fish now, needing to get the larger ones isn't as huge a deal. In fact, if you really just wanted to save time, I would suggest just buying the insects off of the AH instead of paying someone for the fish.
