26" Vizio (3 years old, lots of use) problem (don't have specs infront of me)

Starting a couple of days ago, after powering my Vizio on for the first time that day my screen with flash black along with the normal picture. The TV will make a popping sound corresponding to the flickering. After about 5-10 minutes this will stop after the TV warms up and it will be fine. Any quick ideas what could be wrong and what it would cost to repair? Or would it be worth just buying a new TV when it finally gives out?

Sounds kind of like the issue you're having, and there's some troubleshooting in the thread as well. Post the model number if you can.

my boyfriend had this problem, all he did was buy a new capacitor for the on/off mechanism and it fixed it right away! $20 fix for his $1200 TV.
