trouble restoring iphone

just as the title says, everytime I open up itunes to restore my piece of shit iphone, it starts restoring the files and then just freezes/stops.

Ive tried damn near everything, never had this problem before until today. How can I fix this before I take a hammer to it?

Can you get into the OS? Maybe erase all content and settings and then attempt to restore.

Not sure. As soon as I plug it in, it automatically goes into restore mode, and once it starts restoring it either freezes up or gives me an error

Okay, got it restored through my other computer, but now I lost all my contacts and everything. Can I still get the most recent backup file from my computer?

Exactly.. it'd pull whatever information was in your most recent full sync. You might have some loss of data depending how long ago that happened, and will definitely have to reinstall apps.

how do I get those backed up files on my phone? Just do another restore on my original computer?

Just sync it to the last computer you synced with.
