This is an odd but simple request, Is there anyone fluent in German who can translate this Alice in Wonderland riddle into German for me please?^^

"Why is a raven like a writing desk?"

I can ask my wife to ask one of her German coworker friends back in Germany if you want to be extra sure. That's about as fluent as it gets. My Deutsche is pretty broken but the google translation seems legit.

It realy is correct, even the german version of the book uses that phrase.

iirc, one of the common ways to train computer translators is to feed them multiple translated copies of things. It could be exactly what's in the book because Google translate learned how to translate that phrase by looking at the german and english version of Alice in Wonderland.
