Ubisoft announces Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Ubisoft has just announced Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, new game in the famous tactical FPS series. The game is being developed by the Ubisoft France studios, and will be available worldwide by the end of 2010. Moreover, in Summer there'll be an Xbox 360 multiplayer public beta open to every Splinter Cell: Conviction owner.

Slated for release on PS3 / Xbox 360 / PC, as far as I know.

I agree with this statement.

I love that these games use much more strategy and team work than COD games. Also, less kiddies.

This still didn't matter. It still fell under that "die looking towards your killers direction" more often then not.

I played the fucking living shit out of GRAW2 before MW came out. Between my roomate and I thats all I did. loved every moment, and always thought it was hilarious that people camped like crazy in the game. If you killed me, and you didn't move, you were going to die within 30-60 seconds as soon as I can get to you.

I'm excited for this game, and willing to play it over MW2 as long as they fix some of this issues from GRAW2, and keep some of the best things about it. (Man I miss being able to switch my gun from arm to arm)

What would be priceless is if they could take the in-game engine and use it for the muliplayer engine without watering it down like they did for the AW series. The single player engine was beautiful!

Ya gotta remember the AW games came out quite early in the console cycle. Both were out before Gears of War 1 iirc.

Nowadays the consoles can pushed a bit more. So I wouldnt be surprised if the single player engine is used in the MP as well

And I didnt really camp. I just patrolled the same 20M area.

Just wanted to bump this with some info.

Saw this at conference. Bottom line, prepare to shit bricks. Most of us at conference agreed this took the show in terms of visuals and gameplay. They showed a live demo and it blew everyone away. It was entertaining to listen to the groups chatter in disbelief while the guy was playing the mission.

Hopefully they push out the new trailer, gameplay trailer, and demo soon so people can see what I saw. This really pulls down its pants and shits on everything else that wants to call itself a shooter.

Preordering AND getting splinter cell will give u beta access for 360.

4 player co-op.

The invisible material you wear is based on the current experimental material they are working on now. The soldiers looked more distorted then invisible. The more you moved, the worse it got but standing still you were easily easily missed. Its was very wild, and believable at the same time. The best parts of the demo: Shooting a guy point blank at the back of his head but then holding his body up as he sat on a mounting gun just to keep the crossing patrol from becoming suspicious. Going under a deck and shooting a sniper who is lying above u in the throat and watching the blood pour around the planking to the sand below. The co-op/AI commands are so much more fluid and the AI does not consist of retards. No long do you have to deal with "dummys to fill in the rolls of making u command a squad for shits and giggles" They have purpose now and you will WANT to use them.

For me the coolest part was the end of the demo. He showed off using the AI to have 3 shots on 3 body guards as you needed to take out a target alive. After the execution of the command the guy demoing said "lets take this from another perspective and demonstrated how you can be the sniper tucked away about 20 floors up in a hotel overlooking the beach.

Also all cover is breakable. At one point he showed a K member being broken to its steel frames just to demonstrate how beautiful and breaking material apart in the game was and how cover is no long a false sense of "Easy button" for the campaign.

I don't care of MW3 comes out and its the pinnacle of all CODs. GRFS will be the king of FPSs when it comes out next year.

I believe it was preorder only but that may have changed. It's supposed to be liked Reach's beta on ODST disc.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta deploys January 2012

Aspiring future soldiers will get their first taste of playing as "F-16s on legs" in Ubisoft's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier when the game's beta rolls out in January. " We know you have been asking about the beta," the publisher wrote in a tweet Monday, before saying, " We're excited to announce that the MP beta will be launching in January 2012."

Ubisoft had previously said a beta would launch this summer, but any hope of that happening was pretty much dashed when the game itself was delayed into 2012 aka the future.
