    Streaming PC Games Issues:

I've been using XSplit to broadcast console games, and they come through gloriously, no lag, no stutter, nothing.

However, when I try streaming PC games, I run into a whole bunch of issues: The video stutters a lot, or jumps around. I'm not sure why or what settings I need to fix this. For reference, i'm using a Black Magic Intensity Pro for streaming console games, as for PC shit, my PC is fairly powerful (don't have exact stats, i'll look into it if it's an issue, but it was purchased this year and runs everything I play on it at highest settings without flaw). I have an upload capable of 10mbps, and was streaming at 2500 vbr or w/e it is in Xsplit. I've played with all the settings I could find, stage resolution, vbr, etc and nothing improves it, regardless of what PC game I am playing. Any help would be appreciated!

Doesn't matter if you just bought it within the last year. There are plenty of models that just aren't up to par for handling both the task of streaming + playing an intense game (FPS wise/visually).

Download Speccy and post your specs.

Also taskmgr and check processor usage during streaming + game fullscreen.

    Re: Streaming PC Games Issues:

I also have trouble streaming PC games with XSplit, I don't think it's a hardware issue. At best, as soon as I start XSplit it will forcibly cap the fps of the game I'm playing at the fps that XSplit is set to(30), if I try to override the setting up to 60 XSplit will pop up a warning that it's not recommend to stream at >30fps and I'll get the issue of framerate jumping all over like you described.

I do only have GTX460, but this occurs even on old games with minimum settings.

    Streaming PC Games Issues:

I turn the vbr way down and that removes my stuttering.

I'll get speccy in a bit, I thought the VBR should be high?

    Or

VBV Max Bitrate (Kbps) / VBV Buffer (kbit) = I thought these values are almost always identical? I have mine at 2500 for both.

Upping FPS to a custom 60 also fails.

    Streaming PC Games Issues:

Ya I meant vbv. It's default 1000 i think? I scale it way down and that removes my chop (unless I've got my stream open in another window). Also I found lowering the viewport size was helpful for fps issues.
