I've always found Jonathan Rhys Meyers interesting. Even though I hate vampire stuff, I'll definitely give this a shot.

Would make for a fantastic HBO/showtime show... on NBC I dont hold my breath. Lack of good violence/nudity will make for piss poor Twilight-esque vampire melodrama i'm sure.

I just dont find yet another vampire show that compelling. This is definitely going after the "adult" market, in counter to the Vampire Diaries. With True Blood ending this year (I think), it would have been a good fit for a cable channel. Hell Showtime could use a good "fantasy drama" but alas... this show will last for about 2 weeks on NBC mostly because fans of the drastically different toned fantasy show that is before it will only give it that long before they stop watching.

I would also rather have 10-12 episode season that keeps the progress of the story steady unlike 24 episode seasons that are filled with nothing.
