FFXI character models not showing up

Hi,

FFXI character modesl not showing up.

I started FFXI pc a while ago via steam and it worked fine until around 2 weeks ago.

Read some forums, posts etc... decided to uninstall everything, reinstall from 2008 collection cd ( CP, ZM, AHTURGHAN and WOTG version ) and updated everything.

Logged back in and still no character models, no npc models, no npc items ( grounds of valor, chests, etc )

Known issue, no specific fix. This happens on the Intel HD 4000 card

Someone suggested installing an old driver to fix the problem, as the latest one seems to kill it.

i can vouch for this fix and it does work ( roll back to previous driver version ).

Great to hear!

In that case I'm not too worried now if I purchase a cheap laptop with HD4000 and then use this driver.

Quick question if you are still here, did you just have to roll back? I got my machine fairly new (back in December) and I don't believe at that stage I would have any older drivers -- did you have to go find older ones, or were you just able to roll back.

Had to search specifically for the driver which worked according to that Intel forum:
