Being redirected to bullshit review/porn sites.

I've dealt with redirects in the past (TDSSKiller, malwarebytes, etc., usually took care of it) but neither of those did anything to get rid of this one. Not even sure how I got this in the first place as I only visit a handful of sites (this is a work computer), none of which are risky to view.

Does it matter what browser you use? Tried chrome, firefox, opera, etc? Could be more deeply rooted in that case (like host file or client-side proxy), but if other browsers work fine then your normal one is borked.

There are malware around that will install themselves to a small (~10MB or so) partition on your HDD that like to do redirects as well. Removal tools do jack shit to remove them, hell, you can reformat and not get rid of them if you don't wipe the partition.

Try hitman pro. It's good at removing rootkits.

A friend's pc has something similar, but it's really rare. I couldn't find anything suspicious either.

Mozilla is the only browser affected by it. It happens only when opening random links (I can usually back out and refresh and the site will load fine, but now I'm actually getting livejasmin porn..which is a bit of a nuisance)

I delt with something earlier thats almost similar, it was "changing" search engine pages and results
like yahoo.com would have coupon ads, and the top 5 or so google searches would redirect to viagra or some random ads site.

i saw this thread and came here to post this, hijackthis is one of the best at removing redirects

you should be very careful about what you remove though, should definitely post a log here if you decide to use it
