    Breaking T-mobile contract

So, as the title says I'm trying to do this. Not because it's overpriced, or because of anything to do with the phone. In fact I love the phone itself, and the customer service is fantastic the people are very nice and helpful.

I simply have zero service when I'm at my house and it's getting old, the phone offers a wifi calling feature which is why I bought it in the first place, but even that doesn't connect phone calls(I've asked and they're not sure why). Anyways, I'd like to break my contract for a service provider that I can actually use in my home without having to walk down the street to hear what the other person is screaming. I've so far completed a full year of this as of 3 weeks ago, I have another year left.

Now my question is, will breaking my contract damage my credit(sort of why I started this, I'd like to continue to build some credit) Is there something in the user agreement that allows me to opt out if I get absolutely zero service in the confines of my home? Or should I stop being a lazy ass and just read the damn thing?

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

    T-mobile doesn't have contracts anymore.

You should be able to break it without issue. I would call customer service and ask though as they may make you pay w/e "balance" is left on your phone with the way their new system works.

I don't see why it would hurt your credit. I had the same problem with my phone before I got my Blackberry. I brought it up in a store and they offered to get me a repeater since they didn't want to lose my service. I ended up upgrading and found out that their WiFi calling is kinda odd. I can't be in a complete dead zone and have it work. I need to turn WiFi on while I have some kinda connection to TMobile since the device needs to ping TMobile and set up the web connection to the service.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat, so I don't have to finish my current contract because they're all done? I thought all contracts in effect were expected to be carried through or somethin.

they have sorta a bridge system to the non-contracts for those still on it. When I had initially called I wasn't eligible for it since our contract is too new, but I think in september we can. I would really call and ask what your options are.

I also can't imagine this would hurt your credit. You can ask the rep whether they report it, but I doubt it.

It's only a $100 transfer fee to go to the new system right away.

TMobile got rid of contracts. It's an a la carte style system where you pick what you want in a plan and pay per month with the ability to cancel at any time. The trade off is that you cannot get phones for cheap anymore and must pay the full MSRP for the device. However, you can go on a payment plan where you pay off the full cost of the phone over time and I believe that is when you cannot leave the service.

They may not do this any more, but when I cancelled my X's cell phone I got in my name due to her not paying the bill, after I paid the cancellation fee, they sent me a collections notice for the remainder of the phone. This was Cingular (Now AT&T)

I filed a few complaints and today when I threatened to leave, they mentioned a service booster, which I'm assuming is the extender you mentioned. Waiting to hear from them, it sucks I couldn't even call them on the phone I have through them haha. Had to use the live chat thing.

Last October I broke my contract with Tmobile after I signed up for it. I have had their call/text service for years and was satisfied with that, got signal everywehre.

I signed up for a data plan right as AT&T roaming contracts were ending with tmobile and while I got good data speeds for the first couple of weeks, when those contracts ended my data speeds went from 3-5mbps (AT&T hspa+) to less than 200kbs (tmo edge) so I went to the kiosk to complain, called/chatted and basically after a month got nowhere. I ended up biting the bullet and cancelling 2 lines ($400) and left, I didn't pay our final bill until it went to collections and negotiated to 50% off the bill with them. 2 Months later (Today) it still hasn't appeared on my credit and I'm hoping it doesn't.

    Fuck T-mobile, I'm angry.

Not happy with these clowns, the last guy who said he was gonna have an engineering department look at it, didn't actually follow through. Now this rep is sending me smily faces and shit, telling me they're gonna send me a new phone but charge me the warranty fee. Told her to shove it, last time I do business with this punk ass company.

Are you able to issue outgoing calls over WiFi while in your basement?

Whoops, just assumed that's what you meant. Most T-Mobile stories I hear are about people losing connectivity only in their basements. Sounds like a problem you might have to fix yourself unless you're content on breaking contract. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1316 < a good place to start.
