You need at least three people in order to enter, and there are some goal 3s that would be very iffy with only three people.

That sucks. I was hoping I could solo it as I'm sure finding the help needed for it is going to be a pain.

Can finish all goal 3s with only three people, but several will be impossible with only one if you somehow found a magic way to enter solo.

I managed to make a full party of 6 and got to Instructor rank 1, that one is gay, have only 5 minutes to reach the goal. We didn't succeed in our 3 attempts even with a COR, SMN, and me as BRD enhancing our movement speed. On the plus side I got 30k in research marks, need 40k more for mantle after I finish all the goal 3's. Now need to wait on getting more of those things (forgot their name) to enter Meeble Burrows again.

On another note, I just got Light gorget for my WS set. Took many hours to farm the organs but it was worth it.

Of which my luck is always shitty with this game.

Did two shark runs earlier...failed them both of course.

I don't get what you mean, or maybe I'm missing something.
"I failed both of them" hinting at you having "bad luck", but how is a Shark run dependant on luck? I mean if we were talking about NNI sure, but Shark? While of course luck does play a role, like in everything else in this game, it seems to me that it's a pretty marginal one? Either you and eveyrbody else perform their role and follow the strategy or they don't, it's not like every new time you attempt a Shark run there's a "random" factor that you cannot control (like NNI) and hence a large influence of luck.

Or did I misunderstand what you meant maybe?

He's just inaccurately blaming everything on luck. Based on his other thread asking how to defeat Krab, the shark failures have nothing to do with luck (didn't get screwed by shield and stun resist or anything like that) but rather the alliance did not have the proper jobs to defeat the NMs. In his previous thread asking "how am I always getting outparsed?" I referenced the need to know the gimmicks of the various NMs due to his other post asking what MNK/RUN is for. He responded to me that he knows all the gimmicks and that he can follow directions.

While I of course did not believe he understands all the mob gimmicks completely, I was not going to argue with him, since it would not change his perspective. When I first read his "luck" bullshit here, it reinforced my assumption, and I had the same thought as you, Sechs.

What it really comes down to is:
a.) You know your shit, have a solid group and do catch some bad luck
b.) You know your shit, you have to /sh for half your alliance and make some job choices that you're not happy with, but you have to go with it and may lose because of it
c.) You don't know your shit, although you think you do, then you blame it on luck when you inevitably fail.

My true advice for this guy since he seems like he wants to improve is find a LS like Draylo's that has a consistent number of players who most likely know what they're doing and join it. These LSs are far and few between and will most likely require server hopping, but it will probably be worth it in the end.

That sounds a pretty honest and fantastic suggestion for him, I support that wholeheartedly

I'm not saying this guys not the best player, cause he's clearly not lol, and theres nothing wrong with it because if everyone were god tier, it would be standard tier.

But that mission is 100% luck based to 3 star it, even if you have the max movement speed possible, since theres no fighting required.

With max movement speed, you can make it to the final goal in 5 minutes there even with the walls in the worst configuration, but it's very close, and no one can make any mistakes.

Don't know if you're aware but I can't see it already said, the reward for beating just goal 1 is movement speed - complete it three times to get the maximum boost and then go for goal 3. The group I did it with split so we had 2 people going north, 2 south, 2 west straight away and used vent. If you've attempted it a couple times you should all get used to the map(s) and directions to run/split in.

It's not 100% based on luck. As that suggests needing no skill. As Fwahm says you can win theoretically in any combination but it involves people not making mistakes - that's not luck, that's skill. Getting lucky doesn't mean passing or failing, it just means less margin for error, it should always be passible.

Did you even look at the mission, or are you just spewing diarrhea out of your ass to be a worthless troll?

There is no skill. You run from Start to Goal, and walls randomly are up and down. There is no pattern, or so it seems. Its not like you can look at the first wall and go "ok I know where to go now". If you send everyone west from the start, and its up, you've lost 1 of 5 min. You cant send one person, then send everyone else another way, because either way, someone falls behind by 1 min. There is no skill, its luck or:

You should calm down, it can't be good for your health.

And no I'm not, I've 3stared this mission several times for both myself, mules and friends.

Luck plays a part in your apparent strategy because you don't think about it logically, as can be seen from your example of going to the westernmost wall just to find it blocked. That is not a smart way to start because as you say, you'll waste time backtracking. Here's how to go about it logically:

Check the middle or northern wall first, if it's blocked you waste little time going to the other. I've never seen that northern wall be open but the two walls it leads to be closed.
If both of those are blocked, check the south-western one. The route from that one is the shortest so if you waste time checking both other walls first before taking this one, you will still have time to complete the mission.
If you have to take the northernmost route, once you get to the big room to the north, don't exit to the west, exit to the southernmost east tunnel - there is no wall in the way and the distance to the next set of walls is comparable to heading west, but doesn't have the option of getting fucked by the walls to the west.
Once you exit west out of that southern big room, have a thf flee ahead of the group to check the two walls directly west of the next room you reach. If one of those two walls is down, they tell the others and everyone goes that way. There are no more choices after this point.
If both walls are up, the thf backtracks (flee gives him time to catch up) and everyone heads through the northern wall instead. Once again, after this one there are no more choices to make.

If you actually make a plan, you will succeed. The time lost by blocked walls is small enough that you will still have time to reach the end.

Like I said, on my runs we only ever failed because a mule got stuck or someone got lost/stopped paying attentions/afk'd on auto-run and got stuck like a mule. Every single attempt had at least one person reaching the goal within 5 minutes, and if one person can, everyone can.

So yeah. Getting lucky with walls means more margin for group error. That's it.
