Official Xbox One Controller Drivers for PC

So this Happened.... It's wired only for now but I expect a wireless adapter in time.



Beginning today, new PC drivers for the Xbox One controller will be available for download, offering PC gamers a better way to play using the Xbox One controller. We’re planning to release the drivers as part of a Windows update in the near future; however, today, I am happy to offer early access to our dedicated PC gamers on MajorNelson.com.

Sounds fishy... If those drivers were really official, why are they only offered from some blog page?

It's Larry Hyrb aka Major Nelson he works for M$ as Director of Programming

There's all kinds of info you get from his Blog before it's sent out as a big media broadcast. Not really leaked info, just a bit before big public announcements.

K, I take everything back and claim the opposite Haven't heard about him or the blog before, that's why it looked a bit suspicious.

Driver is 100% clean and works like a charm. Controller works fine, even without batteries ^^

Yeah, I probably could have uploaded and posted virustotal or jotti scans but didn't think about it. Next time though ^^

I kind of want one of these for playing FFXIV, using a 360 controller now but the dpad is such shit. Tried the Xbox one demo unit in stores and the controller is much nicer in comparison. But don't really want to play wired though guess I have to wait for them to make a wireless adapter.

I guess they will release one at some point. Can live with the wire since I had the wired version of the 360 controller so far ^^
The only thing that bugs me a bit about the XB1 controller is that the shoulder buttons need more force, and the back/select/whatever button has to be pushed pretty far down (at least on my controller...). The triggers on the other hand need less force, maybe that helps a bit against hurting fingers after long instance runs...
