    Wifi at Home

My wifi has recently been kicking me off, I use the trouble shooter and it comes right back. If I check my connections I have the one I created and the default Dlink wireless available. So two connections coming of one router. I tried to delete the other connection but it came back, weird thing is both connections are protected and have the same SSID, what ever that is.
This started happening after I put a paperclip into the reset button. Any ideas how to make my wifi more reliable, thanks.

What is the exact model of your router? It may be possible to put in custom firmware, or baring that, there could be an update from dlink for it. Hard-resetting it should have only brought things back to default, meaning you may have not set it back up properly.

Mine broadcasts both at 2.4ghz and 5ghz, so it actually has 2 different SSIDs for them, or up to 3 additional ones for isolated guest networks. You might have this going maybe; nice feature if you have visitors and don't want them on your shares. SSID is the network name you're connecting to, and it can be the same if you let it.

add: you can also give this an install: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/inssider.html This can help you identify how strong the signal is and how wifi-congested your area might be. With this you can figure out the best wifi channel to use (either 1, 6, or 11 for best results).

I think I have it figured out, I reset my modem, then the router again. Then went into the system changed the channels, so far it hasn't gone done. fingers crossed.
