Do you own an Apple TV? Please help, got questions.

Right. If you own an Apple TV, I need to know some extremely easy to answer questions:

1. Can I legit screen mirror, 100% of my stuff from my ipad, onto the TV
2. Any limitations?
3. Any "lag" between visual/audio?
4. To achieve #1, which model do I need? I noticed there's a cheaper one and a new one with Siri remote.

It's for my mum really, she has a host of TV-like apps but not official stuff like BBC iPlayer, Netflix, etc, but stuff from asia/foreign stuff.

The idea is I want to ensure she can output it to the TV via the Apple TV, that is all, a literal mirror, from her iPad 4/Iphone 6s plus. All other functions/features/spec on the Apple TV is irrelevant. In the past when iOS or things update, one thing or the other will inevitably break (she went through a bunch of HDMI out cables).

Here's the answer you need for Generation 3 and 4

Generation 3 (Not siri remote)
1) Yes you can, and just to make sure it airplay everything, so you will see her closing apps etc) Some apps will let you stream the app only on the TV, but if the app doesn't support airplay then you need to stream the whole ipad and all her actions on the TV
2)Gen 3 does not have a App store, so you are limited to the built in apps, exemple Netflix, MLB, NHL, Itunes store etc You cannot store movies on it, only rent fron Itunes stores, and cannot play games
3) Lag depends on your net connection, if you can wire it it's easier of course, because if her WIFI is weak she can lag for 1080P movies

4th same answer's for everything exept #2

4th gen has an App store, so if a company make an app for the new apple TV then she could install it on it an use it (exemple ABC or w/e), the 4th gen also has an internal HDD for games. You still cannot buy movies and store it there. but exemple I know the new apple TV has a Plex app, so she could stream movies from her PC if she knows how
