Found it super interesting because I have been gaming since I was 5yrs old and never stopped and because of that newer games coming out always build upon that foundational knowledge in some way. Yes they have tutorials and they try to ease in new players (some better then others) but it's much easier having knowledge of just gaming in general.
While dating my ex and playing Hollow Knight, RDR2 and RE2:Remakes with her while also her playing a few games on her own, she was always commenting on how I just "knew" what I was doing, even sitting down on a game I'd never seen before because "oh they probably hid something over here" or "Oh this is meant to waste your ammo" or even the simple "boss fight coming up" when you're given a chunk of resources suddenly.
Or obviously when younger and playing FFXI and other MMOs with parents and grandparents telling you to pause the game....hell I still get that type of mentality sometimes from current gf where she doesn't seem to understand i've committed time to this Mythic+ dungeon run damnit! lol
This has continued on with my current gf and if I play games with my brothers or other people. Curious other people's experience with this.
