anyone know how to use these? i got a quick tutorial a while back, but i cant find any information on how to make these work again

If you have a favorite /seacom for whatever, you can set it to a macro too. I have one that does this:

/seacom 1 "Line 1 Text"
/seacom 2 "Line 2 Text"
/seacom 3 "Line 3 Text"
/seacomup
/cm p
/inv

/? seacomup yields:

Usage: /seacomup [category name] [subcategory no.]

Categories:
expparty, mission, quest, item synthesis, battlefield, others

Subcategories:
1 seek party, want to sell, need made
2 find member, want to buy, can make
3 other

If no category/subcategory is specified, it will default to 'other'

So...just have the /sc setup, then the line
/scu expparty 1
for LFP

Derail: It would be really, really awesome if more than .001% of the population actually used the categories. Most of the time, it's either:

a) green, no matter what the person is doing
b) a color that they think is pretty, no matter what they're doing

Back before the different colored dots, I set up a /seacom for Genkai 1 and a group of people already in Eldiemme actually found me and we got it done, which was great. It's a shame this system isn't more widely used.

I agree about more needing to use it.

I usually try to stay in the right section though:

Green: Exp
Red: Dynamis comment
Blue: Selling stuff (usually on mule)
Yellow: Misc. (I think this is the color for Other)


Is there a way to search for only certain Catagories? (Don't think I saw it mentioned in this thread)

A lot of people bazaaring stuff overnight will use the Item>Want to sell option. I've used the "Want to buy" option before, but I don't think many sellers will search for people's comments on that.

To search for people with certain comments, the easiest way I've found is to:

1. Go to the Search menu
2. Select to search by area > all areas
3. Click the top line in the search window (I think it's "More..." or something)
4. Select Comment > the comment you want

It should then bring up a search of all people with that comment.

I'm sure that there's a way to do it with just /sea, but I never bothered to figure out the keywords for comments.
