    bullets/arrows/bolts economy question

Ok, I craft bullets on a regular basis, but on bismarck I've noticed something interesting. It seems that prices will stay normalized for a week or so, then crash to 2/3rds of their old price while everyone bandwagons on that type of bullet. then as people rid their stock, prices come back up, stay steady for a week again. Have people on other servers, or other types of ammo noticed similar things? or is this just something stupid that happens on bismarck onry?

gilsellers. its why i dont bother making them anymore, they flood the market to get people off their market.

When it's discovered that there's money in a synth, every man and his chocobo get on the bandwagon flooding the market.

All of a sudden they have to undercut each other to sell (demand hasn't increased) and prices drop.

Said fairweather crafters decide this recipe (or crafting in general) sucks and stop making the item.

Supply stops and the regular crafters allow prices to normalise.

Cycle repeats. (Powerlevelling Crafters can really screw this cycle, because they're happy to make a loss to boost their craft level. Making money off synths used for levelling usually sucks...)

This happens in all crafts, all items, but the trends are much slower on items such as gear (as opposed to consumables).

Yep, the higher the demand for an item (and consumables are high demand) the harder it is to keep any profitable synths secret. Some low (but consistent) demand items can be in profit for months at a time...

it's why i do bonesynths more then wood synths now. I used to run cursed kabutos, nq's would still make 150-500k profit, everyone saw me making money, now there's like 10 people doing it. same with ammo, cursed haidate, etc...

Happens to silver bullets every week or so on Pandemonium, will be like 12k, then inflate up to 15-20k, then 30+ stacks fly up on AH and drops down to 10k. Its not gilsellers its retarded people.
Not to mention no one likes Ranger and the people that Play it usually are rich crafters with Ebows or like Acid from Obow so only a few sell a day...at least here.
