What log parser do you use?

The title mostly says it all. I'm curious what parser programs you guys like to use, pros and cons, etc.

I've been using Lil Devil FFXI Parser for a while because its listed on somepage, but I get the feeling that there might be better parsers out there. The parser itself works fine, but I figure there has to be more than one decent parser out there for me to try.

I'd just google it, but I don't want to end up downloading some "ffxiparser.exe" that rapes my computer and emails my character data off to some slimy loser in Taiwan.

Dvs. It's simply much better than the only one that's been available.

I tried DVS yesterday after the update and it only shows the dmg everyone does. No % dmg or crits. I think it was broken :/

Dvsparse didn't pick up "en-spell" damage the last time I played with it, so I dumped it, and I've been waiting for a program that does ever since. Erm, I think I'll go find out if they've since fixed that now...

I does pckup enspell damage. go to select reporting field and select the "additional dammage" or something like that box. It's not active by default but when I discovered it I was amazed at the instant jump in dmg the parser gave to this thf using sirroco kukuri. That wind proc is absolutely sick.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why nobody can find that Select Report Fields button. It's literally right next to that drop down that people click all the time to get the summary page that they can highlight and copy/paste and stuff.

If anyone knows how to make it so people can see that button, I'd be forever in your debt lol. I want to make it flash or something, but then people would get pissed off that it's too annoying.

Regarding additional effect damage, it's not 100% accurate, i'd say 15% or so of swings which have enspell damage on them will attribute the additional effect to a random person. It's theoretically impossible to fix this, so no other parser will come along and just magically fix this. If anything, they might be able to guess a little better, but not by much.

Just make it about 200x300px and label it 'Press Here to Receive Ridill!'

I love the parser div And if it makes you feel any better, I found the "Select Report Columns" button all on my own! XD

If you're looking to make it more noticeable, I actually do have one thing to say. Granted I'm just a random no-name guy that you've never met, so take it however you want lol.

The problem I see is that its really just text right now. Yeah it pops out when your mouse rolls over, but thats not necessarily enough to catch a person's eye. Keeping in mind that the average end-user is fundamentally retarded, I would be inclined to give it more of that "glossy button" look. You know the type, its got a bright color and maybe a a little white glare across it. Look at the default Windows XP Start Menu icon for a good example.

Oh, and I do have one quick question about the program while I'm here. I hope its not a dumb question lol. Anyway, is there any way to view data for individual battles? Obviously the overall parse is more important, but its also interesting to see who wins the parse for a particular fight.

The reason it is hard to find "Select Report Columns" is because it sort of blends in with the View mode Scroll menu.

At first glance it seems like it is just extra wording for the View Mode menu. So people click on file or edit and try to find out where it is but can't find it.

Needs to be labeled "Press Here for the Secret to AV!" due to mass amounts of Ridills already in existance

I tried this the other day. It worked when I tested to see if it would pick up outside party damage when I went into a random Besieged, but when I tried it for a merit party, it just kept giving me errors. The debug file is just a sea of:

(insert time) - DvsChatmon_3: Dereferencing chat pointer.
(insert time) - Error dereferencing first pointer.

I tried everything realistic to fix it. Any idea what went wrong? I could send the file if it would help.

    Here's the fun part.

I am AWARE of the "Select Report Columns" button. I KNOW DvsParse picks up ADDITIONAL EFFECT DAMAGE. I said ENSPELL DAMAGE. They are written to the log files differently. For some reason, en-spells are not recorded by DvsParse (the last time I tried it out, anyway). What DvsParse calls "effect damage" is, oh, Holy Bolt damage, Elemental Staff damage, Sirocco Kukri, and so on.

As far as additional effect damage being attributed to a random person, Red Mages' enspell damage being written differently, that's less likely to happen if I can get a parser that's coded properly. /whine.
